20 girls draw

Just got the accepting list of a regional tournament.
20 girls in the list ,and my daughter is ranked 12.
So, looks like my daughter is going to play her first match, and right after that she will play a top rank girl, whom gets a "bye".
I am not sure of going.:) Backing out is bad?I am too wise?
My daughter has to miss 2 days of school, just to play one match !

- Feed in consy...if she wins the first & gets smoked by the seed, she plays again (& maybe again & again).
- Playing a seed in a National is an opportunity & a privilidge.
- Lots of kids knock off "seeds" from other areas (like my kid).
- & what about doubles....you DID sign up for doubles, right? (same price)

What location is it....amazed they didn't fill up the draw.

Short answer....do it....it will be a great experience.

Why is one match?

If you don't have faith in her, just make her quite to play tennis. That will save a lot of time and money for you and her.

She just has a pain on her shoulder from yesterday's serving.
It is a good excuse to back out.
In the next 2 weeks, there will be the first 12s national.
I will sign her up.So,she will play qualie. Then ,she will be in the main draw.

This is pretty much telling her it's "ok" to quit when the going gets tough. Bring her there, play singles, play doubles, have fun!

12s national 2 weeks away? Hasn't the deadline come and gone? They have qualies?

I'm confused too, chalk.

my post (above) assumed his kid was playing one of the L2 Nationals (coming up in 2 weeks). Not sure what his kid is playing in, but you're right. The L2 deadline was 3-4 weeks ago & there isn't any qualy. All the draws at all 4 locations are completely full (all are 32 draw).

Hopefully folks will be more specific when describing/asking about tournaments.
