2006 U.S. Beach Tennis Open National Championship

LOCATION: Our courts will be located on the beach at Riverside Blvd.
Saturday, September 2
9:00 a.m. to 9 p.m.
We will be holding “open play” for the public all day, beginning at 9:00 a.m. There is no fee so here’s your chance to try beach tennis for free. Racquets and balls will be provided to all open play and tournament players courtesy of Head and Penn, official equipment sponsors of Beach Tennis USA.
The Men’s Pro tournament will get underway Saturday morning and continue throughout the rest of the day, with the Finals taking place Saturday evening. In order to qualify for the Men’s Pro tournament you must have an NTRP rating of 4.5 or better.
Saturday night's main event begins at 6 p.m. and includes the following:
• Men's Pro Division Finals
• FREE concert by The Mystic
• "Best of the Beach" 2 on 2 Volleyball (Men's & Women's)
• Special Video Screening: Big Wave Surfing
Sunday, September 3
9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Open play starts at 9:00 a.m. and continues throughout the day.
The Women’s Pro, Men’s Amateur and Women’s Amateur tournaments will begin Sunday morning and matches will be held throughout the day.
Adult Amateur Women (NTRP 2.0 - 3.5)
Adult Amateur Men (NTRP 2.0 - 4.0)
Adult Pro Women (NTRP 4.0+)
Racquets and balls will be provided to all open play and tournament players courtesy of Head and Penn, respectively, but you are more than welcome to bring your own racquet.
TEAMS IN THE MEN'S AND WOMEN'S PRO DIVISIONS WILL COMPETE FOR A TOTAL PURSE OF $15,000.
NOTE: Beach Tennis USA reserves the right to determine the eligibility of individuals and teams requesting to play in the two Pro divisions.
Tournament registration fee
Men’s and Women’s Pro: $50 per person ($100 per team)
Men’s and Women’s Amateur: $20 per person ($40 per team)
With your paid registration you will receive your choice of a Beach Tennis USA men's T-shirt or women's tank top, which will be given out on site.
Payment can be made by mail or online through Paypal.
Registration forms and payment must be received by Wednesday, August 30, at 11:59 p.m.

FROM LONG ISLAND PARKWAYS
Take Meadowbrook Parkway South to Exit M-10 (Lido-Long Beach Loop Parkway). Take Loop to the end. Make a right onto Lido Boulevard and head West. At the Long Beach Border the road name will change to E. Park Avenue. Continue straight into downtown Long Beach and pass the “Mobil on the Run” gas station and a movie theatre. The next block is Riverside Blvd. Turn left onto Riverside Blvd. and take it straight down to the Boardwalk.
FROM BELT PARKWAY
Take Belt Parkway East to Nassau Expressway and take the Expressway toward Long Beach. Pass Costco on the right and bear right to Atlantic Beach Bridge. Cross bridge and bear left onto Park Street. Go through Atlantic Beach into Long Beach (approx. 4 miles). Road name changes to W. Beech Street. Continue on Beech Street to Riverside Blvd. (approx 1.5 miles). Turn left onto Riverside Blvd. and take it straight down to the Boardwalk.
FROM WHITESTONE BRIDGE & THROGS NECK BRIDGE
Take Cross Island Parkway South (stay in left lane) to Southern State Parkway East to Exit 17-S Hempstead Avenue. Turn right at end of ramp and then bear left onto Ocean Avenue. Travel approximately 3-4 miles and turn left onto Atlantic Avenue. Proceed on Atlantic Avenue and turn right at the seventh traffic light, which is Long Beach Road. After crossing the Long Beach Bridge into Long Beach continue to Park Avenue and turn right onto Park. The next block is Riverside Blvd. Turn left onto Riverside and take it straight down to the Boardwalk.
