2009 FO Sod beat Nadal and Fed won the title because Nadal was injured

There is no doubt now. We have been saying it for a long time but some people wouldn't listen...Nadal was injured last year at the FO. Proof? He missed Wimbledon and was 2 months off the courts so nobody can deny Nadal was injured. Fed took his chance and played a flake Sod in the final.

What happened today was expected. Only delusional fans could expect Soderling beating a healthy Nadal in the FO final LOL! It was a straight sets beatdown. Healthy Nadal has always beat Sod in straight sets on clay and today was no different.

Sod must really hate Nadal now! He thought he was ready to beat Nadal just because he managed to beat an injured Nadal last year LOL! Sod has been a mental midget in the 2 slam finals he played, he will NEVER win a Slam and my guess is he won't reach a Slam final again.

Nadal is no.1, best player in the world and greatest claycourter of all time. Nobody can beat healthy Nadal in 5 sets on clay. Order has been restored and time proved right us Nadal fans.

He was good enough to play and obviously haven't retired, so no excuses, same goes for "mono Fed".

Nadal beat Sod fair and square today as well.

yeah we need to get used to Nadal playing finals against someone else than Fed. Fed is already 29 and clay is not an old man surface. My bet is Fed will not reach a FO final again. But boy this FO was a dream come true, Nadal didn't drop a set and destroyed Sod in the final yeah!
 
Of course nobody can beat healthy Nadal in 5 sets on clay... if anyone actually did, you'd just say Nadal was injured.

using muns logic, 2010 Sod beat a 75% Federer, which allowed Nadal to have an absolute cakewalk draw, playing only one top 20 player....ridiculous. do you know that the average ranking of the players nadal faced in this years FO was 117? absurd

By Nadal's own standards, if he showed up to play, he is fit and fighting.
He lost to Soderling . Good -Bad- Indifferent, Federer used the oppurtunity and won FO. He isnt the reason Nadal missed FO last year. Federer can only play his opponent (and it isnt Nadal)

I dont care if Nadal has injury or not. His one loss last year doesnt mean a damn thing for me. Stop saying he is a greatest clay courter. He has won enough of other tournies that he is another GOAT in the making.
 
Although this may be true, it doesn't change the fact that Nadal has 1 loss at RG. You can argue about this all you want but that lost is going to be there, no matter how much you don't want it to be. Stop trying to rewrite the past and put this issue to rest
 
he was only out for 2 months which means at worst he had some mild tendinitis. if you've ever had tendinitis you'd know that if you pop some ibuprofen (or preferrably a steroidal anti inflammatory that nadal was probably on) you won't feel it. There is no way that minor tendinitis affected his play last year.

A tendon is not like a muscle in that it doesn't need to be 100% healthy. All it does is attach the muscle to the bone. it will just hurt without anti-inflammatories and could get worse and/or tear if you play with it (which is why he skipped wimbledon and subsequent events until it healed).

As a matter of fact, last time healthy Rafa lost to Fed was way back in 2007. OMG.

He lost in Madrid 2009. If he wasn't healthy, he shouldn't have entered the tournament.

Are you serious? 117? That's pathetic... :-? Not that I think Nadal would have lost if he played all the top guys. He was too good, he deserved the win, but 117 is just... astounding, to say the least.
