H2h Henin leads 12-2
Henin leads 8-1 on Hard Courts
H2h in slams is 1-1 (Petrova won @ 04 USO, Henin won at 05 RG)
Henin won earlier this month in Brisbane in straight sets

Who will advance to the semis?

No matter what happens in this match, the winner will be at least the finalist of this tournament (I don't think either Kirilenko or Zheng can beat Petrova/Henin).

I'm guessing Henin will win because even if Henin does not play her best, she's a fighter and never quits (even if her opponent plays better than her) and let's not forget that Petrova has a tendency to get really tight when she's about to close out on a match.

So I say Henin will lose the first set just to win in 3.

Even though she has been struggling so far I think Henin smells blood. She is close to finish line and she knows she has a dream draw to the final, and even though Serena has been in better form here she knows it only takes one big performance in the final and she can win another slam, and it wont matter how so so she played many of her other matches here. Not saying she will go on to win the title but I suspect she will be too determined to keep out of atleast making the final now, inspite of how she has looked so far.

Petrova could win if she can play like she did against Clijsters and stay mentally strong the whole match. Yeah like that is likely to all happen. Henin in 2.

I fully expect Henin to win, but I think it could be interesting. Petrova lost to Henin 7-5, 7-5 before Australia, so she can play with her.

As always, Petrova has the game, but does she have the nerve? Wickmayer (and even Kleybenova) showed how the size disadvantage can effect Justine. Clearly, Justine is more talented than those players (though the talent gap between her and Wickmayer isn't as large as with Kley, IMO). But, if these bigger girls can get grooved and take control of the point, it doesn't always matter that Henin can do more and is more talented overall.

If Petrova can get a foothold early and serve well (she has a pretty good serve), I think it could be a real match.

As I've said before, I expect big things (like Slams) from Henin now that she's back, and she's shown, at times, that she can play like she used to. But, overall, I don't think she's quite there yet. So, I see her being more vulnerable than maybe she will be in the coming months. And, Petrova has to be confident, regardless of whether Clijsters wasn't playing well.

I like both players. Just want to see a good match.

Justine in 3 or a close 2.

This is really all on Petrova. She based on Aussie Open Form coming in has to be the favorite as she has knocked out 2 reigning slam champs in her last 2 matches. Maybe overall Henin can be the favorite but if she (Justine) doesn't raise her game past the barely C/C+ level she has been playing she will have a tough time against Petrova if Petrova plays anywhere near like she has been the past 2 rounds. Henin got Lucky against Kleybanova, she got the job done but still she is lucky she made it out of that one. I will say Justine in 3, I think Petrova's past with Henin and the pressure now on her after her last 2 wins here will crack her in the end. I will agree though that whomever wins will most likely be in the final, although I would give Kirilenko a good shot against Petrova.

I think looking ahead Justine is already a virtual lock to win the French. Clijsters is the only one with a small chance of beating her there. Wimbledon and the U.S Open will be interesting as well.

Justine in 2. Come on, really. She'll run Petrova ragged, side to side. If Petrova has a coach, he/she should be ready to throw in the towel; could get nasty.

Wimby will be tough since that's one of her main reasons for coming back - to get the career Slam. Too much pressure.

Totally agree about RG - Pierre the engraver should be practicing her name.

What is the acceptable English pronunciation of Henin?

EN-ah, EN-in, HEN-in, HEN-ah, HEN-non (as Martina was saying sporadically), or something else? There's never been consensus among the commentators.

I almost hope she loses. I dont know if I want to see her play Serena serving and playing like she is this tournament.

Heck not even against Venus. She wouldn't even be a lock against Li Na or Azarenka if one of them somehow miraculously made the finals, at least not in this form.

Justine is playing really bad. When she moves Petrova around she easily wins points. When she hits up the middle to Petrova's forehand, Petrova hits hard into her backhand and forces an error.

Holds for a tiebreak. Who knows how this will play out? Last double fault loses?

that last syllable in French is not pronounced the same as the English "ah" or "a" ..... It's a sound we don't have in english, with the "n" sound in there, but just barely

That's why I was wondering about an "acceptable" English pronunciation. What would be a pronunciation that Justine herself would not find offensive if made by an English speaker.
