2011 has definently been the most amazing year in tennis for a long time. At the AO Djokovic beat Murray for his second slam+AO title, and Murray once again was questioned wether he could win a slam. Milos Raonic made a big splash after making to the 4th round before losing to David Ferrer in 4 sets. Then in the American hardcourt season Djokovic got the no.2 ranking and beat Nadal in the finals of IW and Miami. On the clay Djokovic once again triumphed in Madrid and Rome, and went on a 41 match winning streak before losing to Federer in the RG semifinal. At Wimbledon Tomic was a uprise after making it to the quarters before losing to the eventual champion Djokovic in 4. Federer at 29 lost his first match after being to sets to none. By getting to the final Djokovic secured the no.1 ranking, and in the final beat Nadal for the 5th time. Djokovic won his 5th MS1000 in Montreal after beating Fish in 3 sets. At the USO the top 4 made it to the semifinals, and the young Amercans made big stories. Donald Young made his first 4th round apperance at a slam, and Isner made his first quarterfinal. The USO also marked the second time Federer lost when leading 2 sets to none in a major. Federer had 2 MP's in the 5th set, but Djokovic fended them off and won the next 4 games to take the match. Djokovicnow has 3 titles, 5 MS1000 and the year end no.1. Nishikori made the semis at Shanghai before losing to Murray, who has won 3 tournaments in a row. Still a few more weeks to go, and plenty of tennis to be played.
