Mine was Red / Black. Which one was that?

Thanks.

Thanks to an awesome playtest, just got my frame in. Wilson Pro Lite BLX, strung with black Babolat VS gut, 58 lbs, Wilson overgrip and vibration dampener. Now I have to wait for the rain to stop.

Demoed Wilson BLX 6.1 16x18
Play time: 4 hours
Currently searching for new racket but been using Wilson hyper pro staff 6.1 16x18

Groundstrokes 7/10 - this is a very stable racket with lots of plow through, open string pattern allows for good spin production, but heavy weight makes it tough for an intermediate in good shape to wield, especially on SH backhand. Racket feels good on slice shots. Excellent control but not enough pop for me. good torsional stability on off center hits.

Serves 8/10- the mass and open string pattern made for some good serves. I did not spend much time with serves and 0 time with serve returns though. In my 4 hour play test I focused on rallying and only spent a little time with serving.

Volleys 7/10: big boy is not the most maneuverable at net but it does offer some nice stability upon contact
0 time spent on serve returns

General opinion: this racquet feels more dampened than the 6.1 I am currently using, but other than that they play very very similarly. there was not enough differences where I would reccommend upgrading from the 6.1 I currently am using. The biggest gripes I have with the pro staff 6.1 are found in the new BLX racquet: too heavy for an intermediate, my arm tires especially on the SH backhand. Not enough Pop, but advanced players will enjoy the control. Stability/comfort and control is where this racquet shines the most, contact feels very nice and when the sweetspot is nailed the ball zings right off and feels just perfect.

Hey Heat,

Give us some feedback on the frame strung with gut. I was the other playtester that really enjoyed this frame and it is on my list to buy in the next few weeks.

Man it looks great with the Black VS.. :-)

Drop me a line @ Tennisguy63t at verizon dot net when you have a free second.

Thanks..

Racket plays great

The response with the black VS gut felt pretty much the same as the playtest frame. Firm, yet responsive. Solid ball control. Interesting finding that if I dialed down the power and concentrate on ball direction, I was really able to hit some really nice crosscourt severe angles. Especially on my forehand to my opponents backhand. Really open up the court.

I would love to get in on the playtest as well. I live in a small town and we are over 100 miles from the nearest pro shop. A playtest would give the kids on our local teams a chance to preview at least something before they order online. Some of the kids don't have the means to travel and demo...

Nice to see people who liked their playtest racquet are able to buy it now. I mean the Lite version people have been able to buy.
