Welcome to the 2012 edition of the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters Sudden Death League.

Rules of the game:

1. Every day of the tournament that day's matches will be posted. You pick one player who you think is going to win. It's a knock out-system: if the player you picked wins, you're through to the next round. If he loses, you're out.

2. Till the quarter-finals, you have to pick one player per day. In the quarters, semis and finals you pick one player per round.

3. During a tournament, you can pick a player only ONCE. Obviously it's important to make smart choices in order to get far. If you somehow have no players left to pick, you're out as well.

4. You can't pick a player from a match that has started already.

5a. If the player you picked retires during the match, you're out. If he retires before the match, you're allowed to change your pick.

5b. If the opponent of the player you picked retires, it counts like a win. However, you can't pick a player whose opponent had already retired from the tournament.

6. If you want to change you pick, make a new post quoting the old pick. Edited posts containing picks will not be taken into account.

SCORE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT
1 correct pick: 70
2 correct picks: 140
3 correct picks: 210
4 correct picks: 280
5 correct picks: 360
6 correct picks: 600

The Monte Carlo Rolex Masters events officially starts on SUNDAY, APRIL 15!

For this event, you may make your Day 1 pick on either Sunday or Monday.

Monte-Carlo 2012 - Day One - Sunday, April 15th

1. I Ljubicic (CRO) vs. I Dodig (CRO)
2. V Troicki (SRB) vs. [WC] JR Lisnard (MON)
3. [WC] B Balleret (MON) vs. [9] G Simon (FRA)

Order of Play for those wondering.

Just a reminder that you can make your Day 1 Pick either for Sunday's matches or Monday's matches.

Day 1: I'll take Ivan. What? You need a last name, too? Kinda pushy aren't you!

Troicki is on the list. I have a feeling Simon will soon be added. Despite that sixth sense, I can't wait for Monday OOP and miss this chance to play with fire:
SIMON, SVP!

The league file does not have MC yet, right?
And when did Troicki earn his place in the fab list?

League file now contains the MC event.

Regarding Troicki, there was one massive exodus he created at Real Slam Cincy in 2011. I think the main reason why I put him in there was due to his mental collapse during Roland Garros last year.

To earn a spot on the list, you have to be known to be a headcase (Cilic, Gasquet) or caused massive exoduses (e.g. Ljubicic - Dubai 2011, Fish - IW/Miami 2012). Tbh, when the game was run by PSNELKE back in 2010, he had a list like this. I just basically imported it.

However, I would like to think of ways on how players can be removed from the list.

Ljubicic will have an honorary spot on the list since he is going retire after MC

Simon and Berdych are on my list of unreliable ones. I have been bitten by their clowning before, multiple times.
