Djokovic was turning up the heat, I could see shades of 2.0 coming through. He was starting to frustrate Nadal with his defense, and the time tested strategy was very visible, to which Nadal had no real answer.

Great to see him making a fight of it!!!!!! Arise, Djokovic! :)

Novak gets 80% of first serve in and you can see the difference.

Novak you f**ker now please hold like your life depends on it. I just want this to go to 5th set and I'll be more than happy!!!

It's simple, when Nole 2.0 shows up, Nadal turns into a mental midget. This has nothing to do with the playing conditions.

Regardless of what happens in this match, today proves that Djoker would have destroyed Nadal in 2011 were it not for Fed saving Nadal's asss. Nadal is playing better this year than in 2008 as shown by the fewer games he's lost. And Djokovic is playing a lot worse this year as shown by the number of losses he has coming into this final.

I'm just enjoying that no matter who wins this match, their victory will forever be tainted on this forum, leading to endless delicious troll wars for years and years.

If Nadal wins, he *****ed about the rain, got his way, and that's why he won the match. Furthermore, Djokovic's 3rd set ownage shows that Djokovic is better anyway!

If Novak wins, the match shouldn't have even happened given the torrential downpour that poor Nadal was forced to play on.

INCREDIBLE!

can they just build a roof already?
I think I read here that the roof will be up in 45 minutes. I don't think they have lights, though. Turning out to be the worst major.

They may throw some dirt on the courts and finish this at Flushing.

Interesting that the forecast tomorrow is even worse... Could it be Tuesday? If so, what happens to Ralph for Halle?

And I just heard that Tio Toni was having words with the referee in the tunnel on the way out.

As Gorecki says, what cl...

Maybe, but it doesn't really matter, Novak had to reach the final in order to have a go at Nadal and he wasn't able to do that last year. Tennis isn't boxing, player's performance against the entire field is crucial.

exactly my thoughts. Nadal would have got his ass handed if it not for Fed. He really spoilt last year FO.

Spoken for the truth...best post in the thread.

Nadal= the raining champion of Roland garros.
what a joke he shows himself to be now..
he has quickly forgotten to follow the class act of Nole , who let rafa have a point which noramlly should have been replayed which Rafa had won twice .. still he goes on about the rain like he is the only guy out there. Crap Rafa.

Rain is making the court lower bouncing, so Nadal cant force high ball to Joker BH.

Thats the key in this match, if this continues today, Novak has great chance of winning.

have you ever tried playing tennis in the rain?

Given the stakes involved, you can't blame him for wanting to play in normal conditions.

Exactly . Rafa pulls a bluff on the crowd and the ump . Toni backs it. Sucky lowclass .

I go away at 2-0 Nadal in the 3rd and somehow Djok has won 8 games in a row. How the hell did that happen?

Rain looks to have saved Rafa and it will be an UE strewn Novak that comes back to the court whenever they return and loses in 4.

Absoluelty, Nole is the best sportsman in the game and repeatedly proves this point.

classic! Although I'm not sure Fed is rooting for Djoker. If he takes the GS and comes back from the brink (and of course keeps this run going), he'll soon be in the GOAT discussion.
Pretty sure Fed would LOVE to be seeded #2 at Wimbledon, regardless of the GOAT thing.

The way i see it is if it's unplayable for both players, take them off. but if conditions are just favouring one player, then tough.

Now Novak has to come back to serve again. why couldn't they break before nadal's serve?

Thats because the rainy conditions will cost Rafa this match. Remember, he cant do so much moonballing on wet low bouncing surface.

Well in boxing you also have to win consistently against the field to get a shot at the title.

I told you guys!!!

This kid is immortal. I don't know why, I don't know how, but Djokovic is the most hard to kill player I've seen in a long long time.

8 games in a row against Nadal in a RG final!!! Take that!!!

The match is completely open right now, Nadal is crapping in his pants and Djokovic knows (he always seems to know) that he can come back and win at the end.

If he does it, if he comes back from 2 sets to love down in a Roland Garros final, against the clay court God Rafael Nadal and ends up winning his four consecutive GS....I don't know, man!!! I can't imagine something bigger than that.

It would send Nadal to a psychiatrist (losing four straight GS Finals, and this one being 2 sets to love up).

I think Nadal now is fighting against his own demons and fears (he fears Djokovic, you can see it in his eyes) and Djokovic is releasing from the huge weight of expectations he had on his shoulders (of winning four in a row for the first time in more than 40 years).

I can not wait to see how it ends....
