Ferrer is not Nadal's pigeon. He has beaten him in the WTF, U.S Open, and Australian Open, pretty amazing when you think of his game. However he is no threat to Nadal on clay, especialy Nadal in this form. Nadal in 3, maybe one 7-5ish set at best for Ferrer. Match wont even be as close as Almagro, Ferrer does not have the firewpower or weight of shot on this surface to put Nadal on his heels hardly ever unlike Almagro.

Well Ferrer had like 5 Set points in Barcelona, and the 1st set in Rome was quite tight. Nadal in 4 if Ferrer plays lights out, otherwise 3 tough ones.

Ferrer will fight like never before, and lose in straights. This is Nadal's year (again).

We know Ferrer can run with Nadal. We know he has endurance. We know he competes hard. But, it isn't looking good. He's had some decent matches against Rafa on clay (but still lost), but also some really bad losses.

So, anything from a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 whitewash from Nadal, to a more interesting 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win from Nadal.

Ferrer is playing like a beast at the moment. I predict he will take a set off Rafa. Nadal in 4 tuff sets, something like 7-6 3-6 7-5 6-4. Looking forward for a 4 hour grindfest.

IMO Nadal really isn't playing that well. That said, I still think Nadal in 4 (maybe 5 if Ferrer can take the first set)

One thing's for sure, Ferrer is not going down without a fight. Nadal is going to have to play well to win this one.

He (Ferrer) is Federer's pigeon too you know...

Exactly. Ferrer plays his a** off against Nadal every single time they play each other, but he capitulates against Fed every time with no fight at all. It's pathetic, and makes me dislike him.

I think Ferrer takes this one. He's on a roll, and will make the final, only to lay down and die for Rolaids.

Nadal will defeat Ferrer. Federer will defeat Djoker. Nadal Fwderer on clay is lol worthy.

Ferrer will BRUTALISE Nadal's knees in a losing effort of 7-5, 7-6, 6-2.

Ferrer is the second greatest clay court player of all time, just behind Nadal. This match will be the GOAT in RG history.

explains why ferrer has beaten nadal 4 times and almagro never has.

Oh not again, Ferrer is going down in straight sets. If he's is at the top of his game he might get a set. I dont see it happening though.

On clay neither has ever beaten him (excluding a win ferrer might have had back in 2003 or something when Nadal was 16 or 17) and Ferrer has had many more chances. Ferrer has a way better mentality to play Nadal than Almagro, but on clay he doesnt have anything in his game that works vs Nadal. On hard courts it can be a different story at times.

Clarky ma man, told you so

I'll drop you another PM when Nadal wins in straight sets.

You just have to feel tortured for Ferrer. Everyone knows how this match is going to go down: Ferrer will fight tooth and nail and play really well and have a hundred break points and lose them all. Final score will be something like 7-6, 7-5, 6-4.

Of course, it would have been the same had Nadal's opponent been Murray, except Murray might have succeeded on a few break points, only to be broken back at love the next game.

I love the suspense-filled and unpredictable nature of men's tennis.
