Rematch of 2011 Queens Final. This time a best of five format chance.

They met twice on Grass:

2010 Wimbledon Quarterfinal: Murray Def Tsonga 6-7(5), 7-6(5), 6-2,6-2

2011 Queens Final: Murray Def Tsonga 3-6,7-6(2), 6-4

Murray leads h2h 5-1....with lone loss coming at Tsonga majestic run at the Australian Open.

Both players not as strong as last year on grass but still playing well enough to win the event. Murray will be happy that he doesn't have to deal with Nadal.....but he better be careful for not making use of his chance with no Nadal like in 2009.

This thread is pretty disrespectful to Ferrer seeing as that match is pretty tense in the 4th set still

Holmes: I don't care how many sets it takes, but I do hope Tsonga sends Murray and his ridiculously sized entourage packing. For crying out loud, how many people do you need with you? Tsonga hasn't even a coach, IIRC.

Please Tsonga, do many of us a favour.

And to think I'd almost come around to wanting Murray to win this pre tournament start.

Murray in 3 or 4. Dont think Tsonga will even be as tough for him as Ferrer due to playing styles.

I'm going to go with Murray in 4 again like I did with Murray-Ferrer. Though he'll probably only sneak out those sets in tiebreaks

You don't want Murray to win because of the number of people in his box at his hometown tournament? Seriously? Seems lame to me when you consider his teeth.

Are you sure you don't want him to lose because of his teeth? Have you seen the nick of them?

Tsonga in 4. I am really liking Tsonga's play right now. I never had a lot of respect of Murray, his attitude and such. He is nice, but could be a lot nicer. :) I think Murray will have one good set, but Tsonga will win in 4.

I'm probably wrong, but I'll take Tsonga in 3.

I just got done watching Murray in that pusher-fest against Ferrer. 25 ball rallies on grass, really???? Tsonga is moving very very well. If Murray puts up puffballs like that against Tsonga, this is going to be a very quick match.

I have not been impressed with Tsonga up to this point. Tsonga to win this match needs murray to play like he does in slam finals and to serve out of his mind.

i see it going very similar to the quarterfinal they played here. if both show the same form as they have so far, murray in 4 tight sets.

however if tsonga brings out his A game, he will win.

It's amusing how many people predict Murray will get stuffed easily by every single opponent he faces! First off, Davydenko was going to school him, then Karlovic, Baghdatis and Cilic in turn would each hit him off the court, then Ferrer would outplay him (which, to be fair, he did for most of the first half).
Now he is going to stand no chance against Tsonga who has only ever beaten him once in 6 meetings!

Given that he has come through a tougher draw than any of the other top seeds, can we finally concede that Murray may actually have a chance to come through in his NEXT match especially against an opponent he has already beaten on 5 of 6 occasions!

Enough with the facts and stuff - what about those teeth?

Holmes: I can see how that read that way. Funny Batz, when I was writing the post I did think of you and how you'd not approve of my words :) As I said, I was initially cheering for Murray prior to the tournament start, but I can't now. It's my own fault, for I dislike this fake on court attitude he has. It reminds me of early Murray. The fist pumps, they're not him. The most fake fist pumps I've seen. The 'Come On's...Again, not him. I can see that his support are drumming into him that he needs to use the crowd support. That just doesn't seem him.

Don't get me wrong, if he wins the whole thing, good for him. It's about time he got one, and he deserves it. I just don't want to watch those stares to his box, and said behaviour.

Any why, what's wrong with his teeth? ;)

If Murray continues serving as well as he did for the most part against Cilic and Ferrer I think he'll take this in 4, Tsonga's ROS is the worst past of his game.

What could help Jo is that Ferrer might have drained Murray's reserves a bit, even when you beat that guy he tires you out for the next match.

Had Nadal made this semi-final, he would have had the chance to extend the slam H2H with Murray to 7-2 (and 4-0 on grass).

Tsampras in 4!

If this was the US or AUS Open, i would pick Murray in 4. But as it's Wimbledon, the pressure on Murray will be huge to become the first British man in the final for 74 years. Therefore, i'm going with Tsonga in 4, with Murray playing very tight and having a first serve % of about 50% for the match.

In terms of pressure, i equate semi finals at Wimbledon to Slam Finals elsewhere for Murray, and so far he's 0 for 6 in these extreme pressure matches. Obviously Tsonga is his best chance yet, but Tsonga goes into the match with virtually no pressure compared to Murray.

Sounds like a fair shout although I hope you're wrong.

Tsonga's a great match-up for Murray on grass. He's going to get passed and lobbed an awful lot.

Yeah, Murray seems to do well against Jo. Tough matches, but gets through.

Tsonga is French, no matter if there is pressure or not, there is still a 50/50 chance he may choke....
