Who is going to win it all this year on the Men's Side

They don't go 100% by rankings though. I thought that they did but last year Michigan State was chosen over Columbia despite Columbia being higher ranked by one spot. If you are a bubble team like Miami you need to hope all the favorites win their conference tournaments. And also in the regular season, pull against upsets.

IN the Top 40?! Wow. That would be surprising. But I agree with you that we need one or two more upsets. We play at VT and host FSU. Sure could use one or two wins there. We have little chance against ACC's top 3.

I have been rooting for Miami to resurrect their fortunes, for the sake of the ACC, but I'm afraid that ends on Friday when you play Virginia. I will resume rooting for you after that.

Might have been a few years ago now but I remember one time they had to take back the rankings and re-release them because they had completely forgotten about a team that should have been in the top 20.

Yeah I saw my mistake - learned something new. I thought when they were counting best wins they were going off the ranking # (i.e beating #1 is a better win than #2) but they actually go off best points so beat #2 on the road would be a better win than beating #1 at home.

I had Indiana as Kentucky's 6th best win because they were ranked #70 in the 3/18 poll but I should have used Arkansas which was ranked #71 because with it being a road win that gives Kentucky more points.

For Texas I forgot about the Tulsa win on Saturday which was their 6th best and instead was using Michigan.

I don't think you're ruining the surprise at all. What's the problem with getting a good idea of what the rankings will look like before they come out? Please don't let two people change your mind about posting your rankings. I always look forward to it and i'm sure most of us here do, too. Awesome work.
 
Good work TopDawg. Have you attempted to do any of the singles rankings? I have glanced at the formulas and the singles ranking formulas looks tougher than the team ones. Like for instance could you in theory take a look at players who may be close to being ranked but just missed out on the top 125 and calculate their score?
 
I know its all about who you played and how their results influence things but Indiana going up 5 places this week just seems wrong.

I hadn't looked at the singles or doubles rankings. It'd be tougher to calculate the lower down the list you get because they don't publish below 125 so you'd be guessing at the points for those people and when the difference between 100 and 125 is such a small number a wrong guess could throw the number off too much. Ranking the top 25-50 probably wouldn't be too tough because most of the opponents would be ranked as well or enough to count.
 
VCU and UNC Wilmington played singles first and they each won 3 courts so it's 3-3 with doubles now being played to decide the match. Former South Carolina Gamecock Nick Jones got double bageled at 3 by Sam Williams.
 
Well, that was a fun Friday following the three matches featuring top 16 teams. What a comeback by Duke and Hemmeler in particular. No Duke fold in this one. Write up says Hemmeler saved three team match points on Bandy's serve. After breaking to get back on serve, Hemmeler then wins next three games. Ouch. Curious to see how Bandy and ND recover for an even tougher match against UNC on Sunday. It might hinge on the doubles point. I see UNC winning at one and two and ND at five and six.

Really good upset win for Texas. Didn't think Llamas would lose to Hess-Olesen. Also noticed that goldhoff has been moved down to four. After starting really strong, looks like he's in a rough patch. Attendance was over 1000, got to love that.

I also caught the last half hour of the Texas AM and Georgia match. I'm still trying to figure out what happened with Junior Ore who was saved by Withrow from possibly choking a match after leading 5-1 in the third. He really was affected by the pressure as he littered the court with bad unforced errors. I remember him from the juniors when he and Denis Kudla played the warmup match before the Sampras/Federer exhibition in NYC. He looked like a mini-Nadal back then; and now I don't think he has any idea of who he is anymore. He looked totally lost.
 
North Florida and East Tenn St were tied at 2 but were unable to finish due to weather. Match was abandoned when weather was bad again today. Missed ranking points opportunity for the winner.

They have 20 days until they play USC, which will be one of the final rankings-changing matches of the regular season nationwide. Then the PAC-12 tournament starts five days after that. Puget needs to get reps before being thrown into the NCAA tournament, so he needs to appear in the lineup soon against the likes of Utah and Arizona to shake the rust off of his game under match conditions.

Also, changing doubles pairings at the tail end of the season can be a gamble. Putting Puget in at #3 doubles and leaving the top two teams alone might be a good move.
 
I guess UCLA didn't want to play the matches out this weekend against Oregon and Washington. They stopped both of them after they got up 4-0. USC on the other hand played out both matches against Oregon and Washington.
 
Pepperdine and BYU tied at 3 - BYU up 3-2 in the 3rd on the remaining court at #6 singles. They did finally get the live scoring link to work.
