2013 clay season predictions

G.O.A.T.
Post all your predictions for the 2013 clay season here. Though guessing who will win the most titles/points during this clay season is a no-brainer, the fun is in predicting the specifics and smaller details of how the season will play out.

Here are mine :

(1) Nadal will win MC,Rome,RG and most likely will also win Madrid. He will at least gain points over last year in Madrid.

(2)Djokovic will not win any title. May make the finals of Rome, though not very likely. Will have the worst clay season in three years due to his ankle injury.

(3)Federer will neither win a title nor make a final. Will possibly have his worst clay season, comparable to 2010.

(4)Murray will make at least one clay final, if he lands in the opposite half of the draw from Nadal and Delpotro.

(5)Delpotro will make a clay final.

(6)Delpotro and Nadal will not be in the same half of the draw (won't meet before the finals) in any tournament.

Polite request to Clarky : Please don't ruin this thread by quoting every post which says Nadal will sweep the clay season to keep repeating "No he won't, Cvac will do it". We already know what you think, thank you very much. Besides, you have 101 other threads on here to say it.

Nadal repeats last year

The farthest Del Potro will make is the semi's

Fed will make a clay final

Djokovic won't make it to the FO finals

Nadal wins Monte Carlo and Roland Garros. He also wins one of Barcelona, Rome OR Madrid. Wins a total of 3 titles during the European claycourt season.

Djokovic, Federer, Del Potro, Ferrer or even Murray might win a claycourt title.

Nadal plays well and wins all masters, but surprise surprise there is a Soderling moment coming up this year.

Novak wins it.

Federer will do a 3rd round and QF. He is looking to Wimb and USO.

Nadal fakes an injury timeout and later in the match karma comes after him and he ruptures his achilles. He then is injured for the remainder of the clay-court season. Djoker takes the FO. ;)

Not so bold predictions

1.Isner is only American with decent results
2. Nadal and Novak meet in at least one clay final.

Boldish

1.Ferrer doesn't make French quarters
2. Federer doesn't win a clay title.

Ferrer will make the final of one of these tournaments. May even win one...

Federer to meet Nadal at Final of RG...

Almagro to choke big time against Rafa, potentially ending his career Coria style...

Gulbis to win one of these tournaments...

Nadal will win all master and Barcelona, and RG and Wimbledon and Cincy and USO and WTF and AO AND IW and MIAMI and RG and Wimbvledon again

This is very close to what I think will happen.

Rafa will win MC (against DelPo). I HOPE Isner can upset Gulbis and make a bit of a run (possibly upset Nole, upending Almagro/Monaco in Houston is a great step).

I think the injury that Nole has gives Rafa a better chance at Madrid so I could say Rafa wins this as well. I could see Berdych making this final again since this is the closest type of clay that suits his flat game.

Rome is Rafa's. I don't see any other scenario other than maybe DelPo disrupting him a bit.

RG... What draw will Rafa be in? I don't see him returning to the top 4 until after Wimbledon so this will be interesting. If #5 is with #1 in fact, that means a Nole/Rafa quarterfinal and Rafa will get past Nole, beat most likely Ferrer in the semi, and set up a Rafa-Fed final with Rafa winning in straights.

Nadal will win all master and Barcelona, and RG and Wimbledon and Cincy and USO and WTF and AO AND IW and MIAMI and RG and Wimbvledon again

I wish this were in fact right! lol unfortunately I regretfully doubt he'll win cincy, uso, and wtf. AO and IW next year is most definitely possible if he stays healthy. Let's hope!

Nadal to win 4 of MC/Rome/Barca/Madrid/RG with either Djokovic, Delpo or Fed picking up one title (most likely Madrid especially in Fed's case, but I don't expect him to win either) Or maybe Nadaldoesn't play or tanks Barca and Ferrer takes it.Or Murray should he choose to play. Might need some luck with the draw, but possible.

And Cvac is not injured so stop regurgitating crap.

Link to the news? I heard he was.

Obviously Rafa will do very well, although I think he'll get knocked off by Novak/ a random player who gets hot at least once. I think he'll get Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Rome at least, Madrid is more of a wildcard. As for RG, I don't feel comfortable betting against Nadal, but I don't feel as secure about his chances as in previous years for some reason. I look forward to seeing what happens.

The Big Four will make the RG semis, with Nadal beating Federer in the final. Del Potro will make a Masters final, Rafa will win MC and Rome with Djokovic winning in Madrid. Also think it might be time for Ernie to make a decent run in a major.

Technically, Nole is not his name either.

And he is not injured. He never had anything seriously wrong with him and is just milking this for all it's worth. You'll see when he wins MC easily.

Yeah because "cvac" was definitely printed on his ST clothing. Makes perfect sense.lol

So what? Nole is technically not his name. It's a nickname same as Cvac is a nickname. The only difference is you like one and don't like the other, and that's just too bad.

And Cvac doesn't even wear ST anymore. You must be out of the loop or something.

I think this is the easiest monte carlo draw for rafa i really dont see anyone giving him any trouble myabe in the final but in my opinion Rafa will have his 9th monte carlo crown this sunday.

I'll go out on a limb.

Murray will win one of the Masters 1000 clay court tournaments.

Djokovic and Nadal will split the other two.

Djokovic will win Roland Garros.

Djokovic, Federer, Del Potro, Ferrer or even Murray might win a claycourt title.

Delpo and Murray have the biggest chance of winning a clay tournament after Nadal. It is a little difficult to even predict who will make a final because it all depends on the draw and who falls in Nadal's half.

What about Cvac? Why leave him out when he is obviously the favorite and the one to beat?

Hi mate - why do you think Murray has more chance of winning a clay MS than Noel? I don't see it that way to be honest.

I believe Novak has a genuine problem with his ankle which I think will impact his confidence too. Even without it, his form post AO has been far from impressive.

Murray has no pressure to do well on clay (most people don't even think of him as a contender) and if he is fit and motivated , no reason why he shouldn't do well. He was unlucky with injuries the last couple of years , so maybe things will work out for him this year. Really excited to see what he can do on clay with Lendl in his team. I think Murray will beat your expectations this clay season, let us wait and see :)

MC - Ralph v/s Djokovic => Winner Ralph(no sets dropped)
Madrid - Ralph vs Djokovic => Winner Ralph(one set dropped in the final)
Rome - Ralph vs Djokovic => Winner Ralph(no sets dropped)
RG - Ralph vs Djokovic => Winner Ralph(no sets dropped)

I won't be surprised if Ralph sweeps the clay season without dropping a set.

What a cogent argument. You've got me all excited now :) Hopefully he doesn't lose to Roger-Vasselin tomorrow

Cvac does not have an ankle injury. Repeating this falsity will not make it so. He is also playing just fine, and his losses in IW and Miami mean nothing.

Your jinxing is great too, I must admit. Maybe not as good
as Clarky's anti-jinxing/pessimism or what ever you call it........

Djoko losses in IW and Miami mean nothing
Nadal's title in IW mean nothing
What means the most is Clarky21's opinion

(NDjokovic's losses/matches are ALWAYS important. In 2012, he was taken to 5 sets by RNadal, and as a result he only won 1 slam that year. This year he was taken to 5 sets by a far lesser player, SWawrinka, and hasn't won a title after that. We could see a year even worse than 2012 for NDjokovic)

One question

Where is the tallest building in the world?

I never said only my opinion counts. You can obviously think whatever you want, but I still think Cvac is a lock to sweep the clay season and that he is not injured one bit.
