I was thinking the same thing. Without Del Potro, the Argentines don't stand much of a chance. Berdych will probably win both his matches and Stepanek and whoever he plays with will likely win their doubles match.

Update:

Stepanek defeated Monaco in the first rubber 7-6(3) 6-3 6-2 to lift the Czech Republic to a 1-0 lead.

Berdych currently leads Mayer 6-4 1-0, Mayer serving.

Berdych defeats Mayer 6-4 4-6 6-3 6-4 and the Czech Republic goes ahead 2-0 in the tie. I think that sealed it.
