In addition to the Southern Intercollegiates in Athens there are a few others this weekend. CTO article talks about the others with draws linked. The Duke Fab 4 should be interesting with Bogaerts and Hemmeler in the same portion.

I am old enough to have watched Brady's dad and uncle play eons ago. Enjoyed watching Dave Bohrnstedt play at SMU; a very good doubles player. Older brother Dick Bohrnstedt made it to a career high of #107 on the ATP tour.

That's pretty neat. After seeing the last name I figured he was from somewhere on the other side of the Atlantic until I looked him up.

Bruno Semenzato putting up some good results thus far at the Duke Fab 4 Invite. Tomorrow is the real test of his progress as he gets Romain Bogaerts in the finals of the Blue Bracket. There's a Dukie in the final of each of the 3 singles brackets with Josh Levine meeting VCU's Michal Voscek in the Black Bracket after Voscek upset Fred Saba in the semis and Michael Redlicki meeting Elon's Cameron Silverman in the finals of the white.

That link does not work.

Josh Levine won his bracket as well, duke looking really strong again this year.....but wow did they underachieve last year. Georgia tearing up their home event, it's early but if Rola goes pro I think they are the favorites for the team title

Ronnie Schneider got a leg cramp in the second set, then gutted it out for eons, losing the second set, dropping behind 2-4 in the 3rd set, then winning 7-5 over the VCU #1. Very gutsy performance; now he has to recover. He looks like a #2 or #1 at UNC this year.

USTA/ITA Southern Regionals are going on starting today in Tuscaloosa. Draws are here and Top 8 seeds below

1 Nik Scholtz, MISS
2 Chris Simpson, LSU
3 Malte Stropp, MSU
4 Daniel Leitner, USA
5 William Kallberg, MISS
6 Lukas Ollert, AU
7 B. O'Shaughnessey, UA
8 Dan Cochrane, AU

Jordan Angus vs. Vinod Gowda was a decent early match that jumped out. I also noticed that Michael Binder is now at New Orleans after seeing very little activity at Kentucky last year.

I see Florida has a new addition to the roster - Richard Brej. He transferred from the Savannah College of Art & Design Atlanta (wouldn't have guessed they had tennis). Looked like he was a 3-star coming out of HS 3 years ago in Illinois and only played 1 year at SCAD with average results. Kind of an odd pick up for Shelton.

Does anyone know where you can find times for the matches at the Ohio valley regional? Do they just feed new matches onto the court as others finish? I plan on going tomorrow.

Regarding this tourney a little tidbit of info is #17 Ray Leonard from Ball State was the last (and only) person to beat Ronnie Schneider in the state high school singles tourney in Indiana, Ronnie won it 3 times after Leonard beat him in Ronnies freshman year. Both are Bloomington products, Ray went to BHS North and Ronnie to BHS south.

Yep, I'm still in SEC Country technically but the closest school, Missouri, is the only one in the conference that doesn't have men's tennis - go figure.

I was wondering about that. Since they joined the SEC, is there any talk of them bringing it back? When did they lose the team? Back in the 80s wasn't it?

I visited the Godfrey future this year near you, the Lewis and Clark Community College tennis facility was very nice , maybe you can become a JUCO fan!

I heard once they start receiving the money from the SEC Football pot they would be looking at bringing Men's Tennis back, maybe 2016 or 2017

Does SLU have tennis? Or is SIU Carbondale within driving distance? Seems to be close but I don't know that area too well.

SLU does have tennis - they are in the Atlantic 10 but I looked at their schedule from last year and they didn't play VCU or George Washington which are the only schools in that conference that are very good. SLU doesn't have any courts on campus but they play outdoors about 5 miles away and they use indoor courts about 15 miles away for colder matches.

Carbondale is about 2 hours so I'd probably just go to Champaign if I wanted to see a good match. I know Illinois has a decent home schedule this year with Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame coming in.
