Berdych, Federer, Del Potro.

I wouldn't call that an open draw. The way Nole played this week and how CRAPPY Murray has looked since Flushing of last year.. They weren't beating Rafa

Yes and when Nadal beat Djokovic at the U.S Open it was an Open draw according to ****s. Only Superman in the draw is good enough, LOL!

Delpo had the chance and blew it. Once he lost that second set it was effectively over. Didn't have the gas to go 3 sets.

Seriously wonder if he will ever win a masters title. Beat Murray and Djokovic and then get taken out by a guy he should perhaps beat on HC when he's on form.

Only upside of this is no excuses about Nadal's time off now. He's won a first HC masters since 2009 and biggest HC title since 2010.

Federer with a bad back, Del Potro who was on his last legs, Berdych his pidgeon, LAWL.

Then stop hating him and cheer him on instead. He's a brilliant player to be a fan of :)

Sometimes I look at myself and find it ironic to be a Nadal hater. I have the same racquet, taped up the same way, same body type, same counterpunching style when I actually play matches, yet always root against him lol. This was probably my favorite Nadal victory since 2005 RG though. Probably hurts less since Fed is almost retired anyway.

Well done Rafa, clearly meant alot to him. Hopefully Del Potro can take positives for this. Nice for Rafa to break the hardcourt drought too. Interesting season ahead, less boring Djokovic/Murray matches.

Well done Rafa, you are amazing champion. Great comeback and put to bed that long hiatus of not winning a hard court title since 2010. Unlucky Delpo it wasn't to be, one hella of run though.

Congratulations. A firm favorite for RG, but I still question his longevity. He's only participating (and excelling) on these grainy, grinding surfaces that can't be good for the knees. But today belongs to Rafa, and no one can take that away from him.

soory dude, it was 0-40 haha

Delpo was also out for best part of a year a few years back, he has 0 masters titles, Nadal has 21 and will be having many chances to win more especially when clay season gets here. I know you are a Nadal fan but sorry I am pissed off that Delpo can't win a masters title seeing as he has beaten Murray and Djokovic and hasn't had many chances, may not have many more. I think Delpo desreves this - not cos he's been out but who he's actually beaten here.

I agree with your post but if things go the way they're going and Del Potro doesn't get injured badly in his career, he will win some stuff. Probably multiple masters and i think also some Grand Slams. He's only 24. He will "outlive" Ferrer(who he has trouble with), Federer, Nadal, Berdych, Tsonga, Tipsarevic and probably Djokovic and Murray.

Delpo really shouldve won the second set and it wouldve been great for him but lost concentration and Rafa took it like a champion. I was rooting for delpo all along but i can lie that i did feel really happy for nadal that he won after coming back from those injuries. But Delpo is back in form he shows he has the will power and the game to do it. Id like to same them play when Delpo is well rested. Should be a great season with Nole Murray Rafa and Delpo all playing well. Hopefully Fed can get something done as well.

VAMOS! Rafa wins in an epic final!

Got to say I feel sorry for Delpo, I said yesterday that he deserved the title after beating Murray and Novak back to back, but as for Nadal, how can anyone say he doesn't deserve it? He took a barrage from Delpo and then just went crazy, did not give any UE's and took control of the match.

And huge LMFAO at all the ****s carrying on like a little kid when they thought Delpo was going to win.

You like that don't you? Rafa 22 Masters, Fed 21, oh yeah you know you love it

Yeah just like last years RG was his last ever RG according to you (which I bookmarked as no doubt that will blow up in your face as well). Continue to let your blind Nadal hatred, rage, and jealousy push you to continue with your stupid predictions and epic fails. :)

Well until he actually wins it again you can take your toys and play with someone else.:)

Yeah I seem to remember you taking the **** out of Federer losing to Nadal who had been out for 7 months like Nadal was playing terrible, now you're talking like he's playing amazing

And Djokovic could have raised his game. Even playing crap at the AO in 2012 he beat Nadal. Can't say for sure what Djokovic would have showed up.

You're a sad jerk.

Nadal's form for that last set and half was really great. He's found his game. Any doubts about his chances during clay season should have been erased.

Surely, Delpo will win a master title one day. He's playing too well not to.

I thinks that's a safe bet, as long as he stays healthy I wouldn't count out the possibility of him winning another slam either.

His level of play was very impressive this tourney (and to a lesser extent in Rotterdam this year as well).

Haha same over here. I play on a semi-high recreational level and I used to play with his racquet (now I use the Wilson blade 93 K-factor or something). I try to play with lots of topspin (don't moonball though). I almost look down on people who play too recklessly because it looks like they're trying to constantly hit shots that they can't hit, because they can't beat me in a normal rally, they sometimes get away with it as well. Furthermore I love gravel, hate playing on fast courts, hate artificial grass (we have that a lot here).

I think it's because I don't like the hard grunting, his forehand technique and mostly the fact that when his game is on, he looks unbeatable. Way more unbeatable than Federer, who can be shaky at times. I always root against people that have that invincible, unbreakable feel to them. Same thing with Djokovic, I don't root for him either, only against Nadal and sometimes Murray.

No one gave hi a hope of beating Murray or Djokovic. Can he do that again? I am not sure he can. THis was a fairy tale run to the final and maybe his best chance ever. He really made his chance. Another time the draw might help him out but that's trusting to luck.

At least there's a chance in Miami with no Fed or Nadal, he has an improved chance but he'll be tired and won't be surprised if he loses early there. Then MC, Rome, Madrid, RG where nadal will do the usual.

Also annoyed because Nadal was pretty unsportsman about his 3 losses to Delpo so kind of wanted to see him get a 4th and see what he said, but sadly not.

Not too bad from Nadal - although he should have been more aggressive in set 1 instead of letting DP take the initiative. Fortunately for him, he was able to grab the opportunities in set 2 and tighten up his game thereafter.

Gotta feel a little sorry for DP also. He played unbelievable, but to expect to beat Muzz, Djoko and Nadal back to back is perhaps a little too much. He ran out of gas, nerves eventually and the law of averages does catch up.

Positives for both the players. This victory for Nadal should give him the boost to go on and be more aggressive from the start on non-clay surfaces. He's a momentum, confidence based player and a title here - helps him considerably for the rest of the season.

DP's performance here is heartening for tennis. He's a genuine slam contender and can beat the big 3 in big matches. My guess is that he'll have the best season since 2009.

Clarky must be thrilled, I predict she will make him favorite in every match from now on

It will be one hilarious CC season with Clarky predicting Nadal to lose before every single match and Nadal sweeping tourney after tourney, never will understand superstitious people.

Beating Federer, Berdych and del Potro is an "open draw"?

Im happy for nadal and he truely deserved it but come on he basically had 1-2 tough matches.

Berdych- is forever his pet
Federer- bad back (he barely even retrieved half the shots Im surprised he even managed 6 games)
Del Potro- YES! and he showed mental toughness and it was well deserved! happy for him.
