TCU took the doubles point North Carolina
#44 North Carolina at #57 TCU -Livestats
What the heck happened to Santa Clara's depth? They have been blown out at 5 and 6 the last few matches. Injuries I think
It'll be interesting to see if Baylor can pull off another upset. Baylor has Live Video for the 1st time this year and you can see 3 matches at once. Check it out.

My apologies to Clemson Tennis and anyone else I may have offended yesterday. I guess I'm just not a Clemson fan, although I root for their womens team. There's a history between Georgia and Clemson, going back to an ugly incident when Jenkins played there. I need to get over it. Again, my sincere apology. By the way I do enjoy the contribution Clemson Tennis brings to the board. It's just a Clemson thing. Sorry
I think the whole point of this thread is to keep folks in the loop with what is going on around the country. I only see Florida matches so that is all I can contribute.
There's no harm in some playful teasing when another fans team has an off night, week, or year. However, if you want to see more posts about your team...post away. This thread is a solid one, talk specific or broad as you want. Someone will correspond with you.
Ole Miss & Tennessee going indoors
Long day ahead.
Georgia and Mississippi State starting singles first
Baylor/UCLA doubles comes down to #1 dubs and Baylor is up a break there. Baylor won at 3 dubs 8-3 and UCLA took 2 dubs 8-5
Baylor takes the doubles point - singles ought to be interesting. Baylor has a good chance in this one.
Go Cardinal and eat some broncho meat
Georgia leads Miss State 1-0. Bogaerts retires at 1 with KU leading 6-2 4-0
UGA with 1st sets at 1, 3 & 4 and Miss St with 1st sets at 2, 5, & 6. UGA has already won the 2nd set at 5 and 6 to even those up.
UCLA up 2-1 now and up on 3 of the remaining 4 courts. Not over yet but I thought Baylor's top 3 would do a little better.
I never really liked horse meat but broncho steak sounds good about now.
watched the Ms State vs Ga game today and boy was it WINDY!!!!! Tough loss for my bulldogs. Ben Wagland was down 7-6, 5-2 and started stalling best he could when he saw court 5 was about done. He gets a 4 1/2 minute **** break with possibly just 1 game left in his match!!! Kinda cowardly in my opinion. Needless to say he was booed when he came back to the court. Ms state returned the favor when Vinti (MSU) held serve and caused a turn over at which point he decided he needed a **** break with possibly 1 game left in the match on court 5 (returning the favor) Malte Stropp got 2 opportunities to break Ben Wagland to win his match before Vinti got beat on court 5 but just couldn't get it done before they suspended their play.
Lost respect for Wagland after this little stunt plus dropping the "F" bomb several times didn't help his case!!!
Don't think Wagland will be at 2 again this year barring an injury to Singh or Pasha. It sounds like his match today went just like his match against Lutjen on Friday. He had plenty of chances in the 1st set to put it away but couldn't then lost his cool. I didn't watch the 2nd set because I knew he was going downhill but he was close to tossing his racket at the end of the 1st set. He's got all the physical tools but he's not mentally strong enough yet to bang with the big boys at 1 or 2 singles.
What happened with Bogaerts at 1?
Just play out the matches. Stops that nonsense. Diaz likes to stop the matches.
Ole Miss beat Tennessee 4-2. Rebels dropped doubles then won at 2, 3, 4, and 5 singles.
Texas A&M whipped Kentucky 4-0. Not a good weekend for UK especially Jomby.
Cal took the doubles point over Duke and has won 1st sets at 1, 2, 3, & 4.
tough to figure out how good A&M is with their mix of wins like that and OSU vs some of their losses
and yeah Duke in trouble, could be a big old foot in my mouth for the hard time i've been giving Cal the last few days, we'll see, need Cunha and Mengel to show some bigtime fight
they got rocked at 6 by tahir, but comfortable win by konigsfeldt at 2 over saba in response
big second set finish that duke needs in mengel match right now
Cardinal takes the Doubles point and is starting to kick butt in singles.
Cal/Duke Scoreboard - Match Tied at 2:
1. McLachlan leads Cunha 7-6 (3) 2-3. Cunha up a break in the 2nd set.
2. Konigsfeldt (Cal) def. Saba 7-5 6-1
3. Johnson leads Redlicki 7-5 2-2
4. Bayane leads Mengel 6-1 5-6
5. Hemmeler (Duke) def. Engsted 6-2 6-3
6. Tahir (Duke) def. Jayashankar 6-1 6-1
2-2 team score - hemmeler with a routine win at 5
redlicki getting back in his 2nd set after being down a break and a game pt to go down 3-0, now 2-2, to give duke slightly more options
yup nice summary topdawg
cunha breaks, redlicki gets second break in a row, mengel misses out on first break/set pt (deuce now 5-6 cal serving)
mengel misses another break/set pt
this one mighty important, lots of momentum for duke if they get all three of these heading to third sets
third time and he converts, mengel heading to a 3rd
cunha up 5-3 in 2nd, redlicki saves a break pt to get to 4-2 in 2nd
if cunha wins i think either mengel or redlicki gets it...if he loses, well, duke may lose and deservedly so - this is the kind of match the guy who was the NCAA #1 seed as a freshman has to win in his senior yr if duke is going to be the contender i claim they are this year
#65 Memphis def. #23 Cornell 4-3 in Ithaca, NY. Memphis won the match 4-2, then dropped #4 singles in a MTB. Memphis snaps Cornell's 8 match win streak. This is the 2nd highest win in Memphis men's tennis history. Their hightest was last year over then ranked #14 Tennessee in Knoxville. UT declined to play them this year, cowerds.
cunha holds from 0-30 for the set, let's go duke
redlicki will be serving for his 2nd set now
two bad games from mengel to go down a break at 2-1
and redlicki broken at love to bring second set to 5-5
one of those guys has to get his head back on his shoulders, and quick
cal definitely concentrating fan efforts on the freshman's court, and it worked there
eight straight pts for cal vs redlicki
and now he'll serve at 5-6 right next to a very rowdy cal group - time to see how tough he is
big tb coming up
with mengel playing like a scrub in 3rd right now, duke may need this one from redlicki
That was a long 1st pt in that TB
Campbell thought he had that passing shot - though it was right in front of the chair
yeah who knows - but no easier location on the court for redlicki to be overruled if he made a bad call - probably out
way mengel is playing this 3rd makes me a bit angry - you're playing high level D1 tennis, put some weight on your shots if you want to win - totally a playing not to lose effort
redlicki up 4-3 in tb, on serve
redlicki blows a mid-court ball at 5-4, now 5-5
he likes his 1st serve, but won't get the overrule, wins it on 2nd serve for a set pt
Redlicki pissed about that call
6-6 and redlicki heads back next to the cal zoo
mengel back on serve 3-3 btw
guess he heard me talking sh-t, foot in my mouth again
McLachlan up 3-2 in 3rd. On serve
Not really sure, after the match he was up in the stands and didn't appear to have an injury and never saw him getting any therapy. Singh was sitting beside me afterwards and I overheard him tell a teammate it was an injury and held his wrist at the same time so who knows. It's bad news if he does have an injury considering James chaudry is out with quad injury right now. I may hit with zack this week and I will ask him about it.
cal 8-7 with first match pt on own serve, here we go
yup, crowd does their job breaking the freshman and attention shifts to mengel
Cunha facing break point
mengel with a big hold from deuce, he leads 4-3, always interesting to see how a player responds (cal's 4 in this case) when he realizes his guys are looking to him to clinch
wow Morrissey fighting back. breaks to even the 2nd set 5-5
Cunha holds 3-3 - some big hitting between he and McLachlan
3-3 in 3rd for cunha in the match where i'm assuming a faith-based win haha
