Yeah first time. I'm happy for him that he won, just saw the on-court interview and he looked happy as well. He never had a win this big before. For some reason I kept thinking that the semis were on friday, but the quarters are of course. That's cool, I get to see one match more.

Yeah Youll get two quarters, but i bet Its all about Roger;) last year we had Davy-gasquet after That which was great and is possible again this year.

I'm going on wednesday to both sessions so I finally going to see Federer play again in real life.

Also hope to see some good doubles matches.

I must say Sijsling played a good match yesterday although Tsonga looked a bit sluggish. I think Tsonga didn't expect that Sijsling would play this well and that he got frustrated for not finding a solution.

Sad to see Tsonga out so soon - I really have hopes that this could be a big year for him. But I think that every year.

oh well, I'm putting all my eggs into the Dimi basket, and hoping he or JMdP win it. Come on Baby Fed!

You are likely to have the all dutch affair between Haase/Sijsling and Huta Galung/De Bakker on centre court in the morning/afternoon I think.

That would be fun to watch. Hopefully there are some good bargains to pick too. Still looking for an update for my Mg rad mp...

i just watched the replay of Dimitrov Vs. Tomic... Very disappointing tennis from both players imo, although Grigor deserved his win.

Well, don't forget the courts are really quick, so players are bound to look slower and produce more unforced errors, with shorter rallies.

This is the problem with the young guys, they are very inconsistent and standard can vary hugely from match to match.

Glad Dimitorv won and hopefully he can win next round although will be tough match but those are the matches he will have to start winning regularly if he wants to be top 10.

Janowicz loses, now Tsonga. The last remaining threat for Federer is Del Potro and 2 semi-threats in Gasquet and Simon.

Sluggish.....he looked like crap. Sijsling deserved the win as he played solid but in the 1st set Tsonga was like 0 for 5 on BP......he looked like he was pressing.

If your opponent hits unreturnables on BP, it's hard to convert them.

Anyway, the Dutch are doing some damage.

De Bakker takes the second set against Youzhny.

De Baaker wins by retirement up on Youzhny 4-1 in the 3rd

Yeah, I think it's another one of those retirements I don't get. De Bakker was going to serve. That's 5-1 in a minute. Just get broken once more. Especially against a low ranked opponent playing AT HOME.

Poor call by the umpire to give a time warning. The crowd was still noisy after that epic point, especially considering it was a set point.

Is no one watching this? Good match so far. 6-3 Del Potro.

Good match indeed.
Nice to see some longer rallies, whilst ending in winners as well.
Somehow I've hardly seen any good matches at all at the Abn-amro tourny ever.

So Delpo won, but I noticed that his shots have relatively little weight behind them. I miss the bullet forehands circa 2009.

can't believe i missed the Gulbis vs. Haase match. his next one should be really interesting, playing the winner of Monfils Vs. DelPotro.

Shouldn't Federer play his first round today....unless he is plans to play four days in a row for a title.

He did that last year as well, or was supposed to but Youzhny withdrew so one of the days he played an exhibition match with Sijsling.

Disappointing from Goffin, is he now a wasted talent?

I was about to say the same thing, I can't remember seeing that happen in men's tennis, at least not in a while

edit: Unless we're counting things off the pro tour, in which case I can point to a couple of my more recent matches.

Goffin double bagel... o_O

Was Nieminen on form? He's a pretty good player, but still. You'd expect Goffin to get a game at least!

Zildite

Nieminen was not really that dominant on his own serve (for a double bagel) whilst Goffins service stats suck, seems like he could have been playing hurt.

Watched most of the match. Goffin unlike his usual form we've come to exact, his shots landed all over the place. Really sad to see, but niemanen placed well and really pushed for every point. I think we'll see a great match for his next round.

Thanks.....I think Goffin will get better.

Federer and Nadal had some weird losses when they were young.
