I don't think I need to see the rest. 18 years in a row the winner of the 1st set has won the match.
 
I wish people would stop bi*ching about ugly outfits or Serena's body. I'm no feminist but I don't see anyone telling Del Potro not to take his shirt off so we don't have to see his back hair or telling Stepanek to put on a mask so we don't have to see his freaky face.

Stop whining about the ladies and just watch them play. I'm tired of it. You sound like a bunch of pus*ies!

Do you EVER make a valid point? Refresh my memory, what's Serena's score against each of the Waffling Belgians, and what's the Slam count, as well?
 
Is it so hard for some posters to comment on the match without insulting one of the players?

Anyways, Serena upped her game at pretty much the perfect time. Might be in Azarenka's head a bit, not playing well for most of the set and still getting it.

No.. Azarenka's serve is TRASH. Which she has shown all USO long. If she wants to be a dominant player she needs to improve that category of her game quick

Connors, Mac and Martina , can not be compared to Serena since Serena is considered to be GOAT. So your argument there is weak. I am talking about Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretsky, Joe Montana, these players did not whine everytime they did not make a play. They did not blame other things when they did not make a play. Serena should be winning the majority of her matches with 6-0, 6-2 or even 6-3 sets with her talent and strength but she is a choker. At any rate Serena soon be gone and forgotten just like the rest and for that I am thankful. By the way she should be making quick work of Azerenka and you know that full well. GOAT does not let a player like Azerenka even get close.

Stepanek is constally jonesed for being ugly!

Azarenka and Sharapova must be among the most stupid athletes ever. They keep and keep trying to beat Serena with her own game. She's better than them playing that game.

Instead they should play more varied with drop shots, coming to the net, slices even ducking S/V. But they never do.

Serena is the GOAT and she is unable to win the match easily as she should especially with her talent and strength. She is a choker. She wins despite it since she is so overpowering. However she misses so many easy shots. She should have beaten Azarenka 6-1, 6-1 at least. After all Azarenka lost her serve double digits in her last match against Pennetta and Serena has the best serve ever in womens tennis. So how does the score get this close?
Oh yeah, its the horrible terrible mean wind. Poor me I have to play in the wind, this so unfair. By the way, I am not fond of Azarenka either, but Serena should be winning this type of match easily and you Serena lovers know it!

I don't understand their mentality either. When Azarenka was mixing pace, and drop shotting early on in the match, Serena was having her issues

but the biggest factor is serena struggled in the wind hence why vika had a chance. serena has beaten better servers than vika like davenport,graf,henin,clijsters, and venus. so your point is mute.

So few sentences, so many inane points: first of all, it appears your first post was(wisely) deleted, and, I may be mistaken, but I thought you were talking about simply GREAT players, not GOAT, now, suddenly, it's the GOAT. Well, first of all, Serena is NOT universally conisdered to be the GOAT, not even by me(yet), and she's my favorite female player of all time, so YOUR argument is weak. Secondly, if she's such a choker, why is she on the verge of winning her 17th Slam in capping a 98-5 run? She'll "...soon be...forgotten????" Are you REALLY that clueless? Not sure what you mean by "quick work(and, btw, who died and made YOU the Decider of How Easily Matches Should Be Won), but, she's won every match in the minimum number of sets so far and isn't doing badly now, so, like I said, inane.

You were wrong I always said GOAT, never GREAT. You misread. So it was never suddenly. Serena was ranked hire than Pete Sampras on the top 100 tennis players of all time, even though not by you! Serena is a choker, that is my opinion. I mean how many easy shots can she miss? Its pitiful. Of course she can hit winners but does that erase all the easy missed shots? You have your opinion and you think she is not the GOAT , so essentially you agree with me.

Uh, were you out grabbing a snack and missed the 3 drop shots that Aza has hit in this match? And, neither of the players you mentioned volleys particularly well, plus, I'm not sure I've ever seen Shoulderpova serve and volley in my life, littlelet in the day to try that tactic, don't you think?
 
And multiple double faults by this MUG when she needs to hold serve.

Hey, someone has to speak up about it. Instead of telling me to give it a rest, maybe there could be some accountability here for the incessant whining and rudeness, for lack of better terms.
 
oh well, Aza's relatively poor play (mainly serving) this tournament, and Serena's toughness, has finally gotten to her...
 
French commentator saying you're better off with Conchita Martínez's serve (hitting the tossed ball while it goes upward/reaches the apex) with that wind... :lol:
