Hi mates. I was watching some matches of the last seasons this week and I was wondering which season have fans appreciated the most.

For me, these 3 seasons have a lot in common, marking the end of the prime of the Big 4. Here is what I think are the highlights of each season, for you to remember them better and to make your decision :

2014 :
  • The rise of Stanimal, winning his first GS title and his first M1000 title, beating Djokovic, Federer and Nadal
  • The beginning of Olderrer, more agressive than ever with Edberg on his sides, winning Dubai and Shanghai beating Djokovic, Cincinnatti, making the final of Monte Carlo, Toronto, Wimbledon and the World Tour Finals and winning his long time awaited Davis Cup title
  • The start of a blurred period for Nadal, with a less convincing clay season but a 9th title at Roland Garros before getting injured
  • The revival of the clutch Djokovic, winning his 2nd Wimbledon against Federer after 18 months without a slam, winning the Sunshine Double, Rome and Paris as well and a 4th ATP Finals title
  • The comeback from injury of Murray with a good end of the season
  • The first GS title for an on fire Cilic
  • The impressive run of Tsonga at Toronto, beating Djokovic, Murray, Dimitrov and Federer on the way
  • The rise of the lost gen, with a first GS SF for Dimitrov and Raonic and a first GS final for Nishikori (also a M1000 final for him)

2015 :
  • The ultra domination of Djokovic, winning 3 of the 4 slams, the Sunshine Double, MC, Rome, Shanghai, Paris and a 5th World Tour Finals title. 82 victories and only 6 defeats. Impressive.
  • The confirmation of Federer, with another Wimbledon Final and a US Open Final, Dubai and Cincinnati titles again, Indian Wells and Rome final. Also created the SABR during this season.
  • An horrible season for Nadal with defeats in the first rounds of Grand Slam.
  • The confirmation of Stan the Man with an impressive RG victory beating Federer and Djokovic on its way.

Now give me your opinion on the poll and say why. Mine is 2016 because of the Murray run, the Del Potro comeback and the Davis Cup marathons, even if the slams were very bad that year. 2014 is a close second and 2015 the third.

2014 had a stunning Wimbledon. 2015 was almost a perfect 10/10. 2016 was great for the 1st half of it.

On a serious note, I'd say 2014 > 2015 > 2016.

This. From a neutral perspective, 2014 had the more variety and unpredictability. 2015 was just "Federer can't beat Djokovic in big matches" rinse and repeat, there was no "will Rafa win RG this year" because Rafa just plain sucked on clay and everyone knew he wasn't winning that year. 2016 was a one-man show in 2 different parts.

Got to be 2014 here. There was a lot of unpredictability and some fantastic individual runs. The USO was a bit disappointing, but the other 3 slams were good, especially the AO and Wimbledon. 2015 wasn't bad but Djokovic was just too dominant to make it interesting. I guess, it was interesting to see how much he could win in a single year. We also had a great return of Stanimal at RG.

2016 was probably the worst year IMO. Federer and Nadal were both down-and-out for most of the year. Novak completely dominated the first half of the year with no real opposition in sight. Although, it was good to see him finally complete the career grand slam. The Murray comeback was great, and the battle for world number 1 coming down to the wire was a good finish to the year. But overall, it wasn't hugely enjoyable for me. I suspect some of my opinion is influenced by Federer being so poor that year, but I can't help being a little biased!

Eh, 2014 was more unpredictable sure and had some signs of life by young players, but both years were honestly pretty similar in terms of overall field strength.

I quite liked 2014 best from the list: the resurgence of Federer from a dismal 2013, Stanimal at AO...IW, MC and USOs really thought Fed would take those at the time, DC and of course Wimby.

It was year 2015. Ultron reached 15 ATP tournament finals, of which 11 won, won 3 GS titles, reached a record of 6 Masters titles in a one season. WTF won for the fourth time in a row, surpassing the existing record series of Lendl and Nastase.
2015 was a wonderful year for Djoker's fans ;)8-B

2015, for obvious reasons. We witnessed history being made.
2014 was just......lackluster. the Big 4 age ended with Wawrinka and Cilic winning Slams. The real highlight was Djokovic's victory at Wimbledon and reclaiming #1.
2016 was a rollercoaster of a year. The first half was amazing, with Djokovic consolidating dominance at the AO with #6, ending on the high point when Djokovic capped off the greatest 12-month run in history with the emotional RG win. Then it went all downhill from there, Nadal pretty much forgotten, Federer's fall at Wimbledon, and Djokovic's game imploding. Many fans started leaving the sport when its excitement levels bottomed out, unless you're a Murray or Raonic fan.
