WOW, Federer is great doubles player,,,,he carried Chichenelli and won the semi and in the final now. he would win both single and doubles final. GREAT prep for Roger.

Federer wins his 7th Halle, 14th grass title and 79th in total.

Nadal came last, lost to Brown who lost Kolhi who lost to Falla who lost to Roger.

When was the last time this happened to the world number 1?

Fed may have lost if he had had to play Dustin Brown in 1st round. Don't get cocky now...

Not cocky, just an interesting stat. Fed didn't impress me this week, he needs to improve.

Fed would have more chances against Brown as he doesn't rely on topspin and he can handle a fastcourt.

I would pick Nadal over Fed for Wimby.

Needed 2 tbs against FALLA and just lost the doubles finals against nobodies after losing 4 match points.

I'm really surprised people still thinks this old Roger can win Wimbledon...

Federer knows how to play on faster courts, but I think with his decline in movement at age 33 (almost), it also makes him more vulnerable to an upset (like Stakhovsky last year). If he advances and as the court slows a bit, I think he becomes tougher to beat. Unfortunately, the competition he will face at that point probably benefits more from the conditions than he does...so, I almost believe his chances at Wimbledon might be better if he could "reverse" the draw and play his last 3-4 opponents in first week conditions and play his early round opponents on the second week grass.

Either way, as always, if healthy, Wimbledon is Federer's best and most realistic shot at adding another major to his resume. Like some others, I still think he has an outside shot at winning in NYC (or even Australia), but his chances on the grass are significantly better. The thing about Federer on grass is you don't feel like he has to avoid anyone...even beating Nadal seems like a possibility there and you can't really say that at any other major. The biggest thing he needs to avoid, IMO, is a physically draining 5-set match a la Djokovic vs. Delpo last year. Something like that would likely make his next match a real struggle to pull out.
