Welcome to the FIRST event of the 2014 ATP Sudden Death League season: Australian Open

Rules of the game:

1. Every day of the tournament that day's OoP will be posted. You pick one player who you think is going to win. It's a knock out-system: if the player you picked wins, you're through to the next round. If he loses, you're out.

2. Till the Round of 16, you have to pick one player per day. In the quarters, semis and finals you pick one player per round.

3. You can pick a player only ONCE. Obviously it's important to make smart choices in order to get far. If you have no picks remaining, you're eliminated from the competition.

4. You can't pick a player from a match that has started already.

5a. If the player you picked retires during the match, you're out. If he forfeits before the match begins, you're allowed to change your pick.

5b. If the opponent of the player you picked retires (or wins by walkover), it counts like a win. However, you won't be able to pick that player for the remainder of the tournament.

6. NEVER edit your pick. If you want to change your pick, please quote your old pick and choose a new player. Edited posts will not be taken into consideration.

In for this one. Hopefully this time I remember to pick and post someone everyday.

Not forgetting this time.!

I'm in. This will be my first.

So, can I choose Djokovic for day 1 and then choose him again for the final? Or am I to choose 1 player only once in the tournament?

I assume once you pick cross him off

So Tomic for his customary run will probably be my first gamble

PDJ, when you see this...please email me as a thief made off with my iPhone leaving me without your contact info. Happy New Year!

Thank you Wyvter for answering his/her question. I would keep Djokovic for the later rounds......bar bad options that force your hand.

Nice to have you both join, Australia always has the most entries each year.

Also we don't know the OOP for Monday yet, so Djokovic may not play on Day 1.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Hewitt and Tomic Night 1.

Which if someone has a 5 hour epic, will screw over the others schedule entirely.

Like when Serena went 3 hours from 8 and Hewitt amd baghdatis almost went 5 from 11 pm.

Can someone please post the schedule for Day 1?
thanks.

I was gonna go with B Tomic. Not anymore. Nadal will demolish him in the opening round.
