2014 ATP Sudden Death League: Valencia

Valencia - Quarterfinals:

[1] D Ferrer (ESP) vs. [Q] T Bellucci (BRA)
[WC-3] A Murray (GBR) vs. [7] K Anderson (RSA)
J Chardy (FRA) vs. [WC] P Carreno Busta (ESP)
T Robredo (ESP) vs. P Andujar (ESP)

Just 14 remain after all the walkovers and unfortunately the Bautista-Agut one took out several since there wasn't time to get another pick in before the final match, Ferrer/Verdasco, which started at 10:20 EST/US - League File

Why is there no pick at my name in R2? I did pick Anderson. Thank you.

Also of note, Martin Klizan has already pulled out with a wrist injury so for those of you that picked Kevin Anderson as your R2 pick you will have to pick again since Klizan pulled out a day before the match.

This was posted later that day - Anderson wasn't a valid pick since his opponent had already retired a day before the match was to take place which is the 2nd part of rule 5b.

5b. If the opponent of the player you picked retires, it counts like a win. However, you can't pick a player whose opponent had already retired from the tournament.

SF: Robredo
Cheers for organising
Good luck to those who get to make a pick for the final.
Damn Anderson/Agut!

good grief if Chardy knew how to close out sets he would have been in the Finals, blows 6-3 TB in 1st set and then 5-2 lead in 2nd set

Know it sounds terrible, but only having a choice of 2 players, and desperately needing to glean some points, I wasn't going to back a French player! And I live here!

Murray fights off match points and brings Boozyuzi title #6 and Strange Bird title #1. Great job to the winners!!

Rankings and Race updated. For the Race, Wynter jumps from #6 to #5, Big Dangerous rises from #7 to #6, PDJ climbs from #10 to #9, while ark 28 falls from #5 to #7 and Seth drops from #9 to #10.

In the Race for the WTF Top 8, TopDawg, Gonzo_Style, and myself have officially clinched the first 3 spots, with the remaining 5 places in theory still up for grabs. The Race for the 8th and final spot in particular is very tight.

Race to the WTF:
