Who will win the 2014 BB&T Atlanta Open title?

Which is "the midget"? They are both well under 6'0", only an inch apart. Both have pushed Isner to a decisive 3rd set TB (Sela more recently this winter in Delray, Becker back when Isner first came on tour at DC'07).???

I'm in ATL and no way am I going to get heatstroke watching live when I can watch in my air-conditioned living room.

Whoever thought it would be a good idea to put a tennis tourney in the middle of the time of year when the weather is most brutal in Atlanta was not thinking very clearly himself.

Inside the top 50? He wouldn't be making a living playing tennis without that serve. Can you imagine him grinding out the majority of points? This is a guy that can hit return of serves into the stands, or the bottom of the net, consistently. Like Roddick said " you can't teach 6'10".

No kidding! Isner wouldn't be Top 1,000 even if you gave him a better than average serve. His success is completely dependent on his height/serve. I've never seen another ATP player stumble around and shank balls like isner. Even Dr. Ivo seems to move around more gracefully.
 
Johnson and Querrey break again to go up 6-5.

Pospisil: the King of Choke. My God, this is frustrating as a Canadian tennis fan!

EDIT: Johnson and Querrey take the 2nd set 7-5 after being down 2-5. Gotta think with the momentum they'll take the title.

Oh me of little faith. Pospisil and Sock win the 10 point tiebreak 10-5 to take the title! They're still undefeated together: 2 tournaments played, 2 titles won.

Can u imagine a 2nd slam @USO! That would be a 3rd slam title in dubs/mixed for Jack before he's 22!

If they do well in Toronto and Cincinnati, they'll definitely be considered one of the contenders for the US Open title.

As it is, with the Atlanta title they should be 8th in the race now.

250 points earned toward a place in doubles at the year end final in London. And $15.000 each for winning the title which isn't bad for playing 3 matches.

Sock and Pospisil have a good thing going for them.

The Pop Socks <---- This one's good!

The British commentators coined these nicknames..I like PopSocks too. I think it might have been on a Eurosport sream. The Brits are very good at creating nicknames. And when Sock hit the back hand down the line to win the commntator shouted BINGO.!!!

Here is the last 17 minutes of the match in HD. It's as exciting when you watch it again as it was the first time. Best match this year at Wimbledon IMO.

Yeah...I may have been generous with the inside top 50 comment...hahaha. I was at the final today. I think Isner had nearly 3 times the unforced errors as Sela.

Yes, but in his own way, Isner is more consistent than Berdy. You know what you get with Isner...Nuclear serve, strong forehand, crap backhand, passable net game. If serve is off, affects all of the game, blah blah.

But Berdy has so much game and no consistency behind it. Probably should have a slam

Isner is in no way more consistent than Berdych. That's a very wrong statement. Berdych consistently makes the QF/SF of almost every event that he plays. The same cannot be said at all of Isner and I really like him but he's no where near Big Bird in the consistency department.

This one isn't even as bad though, because "Dolg" at least sounds like "Dog", but "Posp" sounds nothing like "Pop".

I dunno, maybe it's just me. I don't mind as much when people refer to Pospisil as "Popsicle" for fun, but yet I think Pop Socks is just wrong.
 
Last time they played each other, it was obvious who the better player is. Berdych is a very solid player, in all respects. Isner is a serving machine.

I said IN HIS OWN WAY for a reason.

Isner has nowhere near the game Berd has. With Isner's game, though, you know what you get, and you get it. He wins at a rate that you can expect...bunch of 250s, maybe 1 or 2 500s when he is done. If he took a Masters or a slam, the world would tip off the axis. Nowhere near that type of game.

Berd? He should have Ferrer's titles number by now, and probably a slam or two. QFs and SFs are nowhere near good enough for his talent.
