2014 China Open ATP Singles Main Draw

I think he will. Despite making several unforced errors he was trying to smack the ball with the forehand and backhand too. He just needs to hit more balls and he will firing again, I think.

With better tennis balls maybe he'll cut down on the UE's too ;)

I think he just lost to another guy who is ranked out of the top 50. I think you are not thinking very clearly.

Too bad I don't care what trolls think

He hasn't played in 3 months. He'll get better. I hope he doesn't because I'm not a fan, we'll see.

Honest and factual observation!!!

A lot of that is true, no doubt, but it should be said that Beijing is an outdoor tournament unless they changed it this year. It's not played indoors as a rule. I didn't see Nadal-Klizan, but unless they have a roof and it rained there, the match was played outdoors. That said, I didn't expect him to win this tournament indoors or out, but I still expected him to win this match although Klizan has played him tough before.

Tbh, when I saw the scoreline it wasn't a major shock. The surprise to me was that he lost after winning the first set.

 exactly. I'm shocked they don't find something better to do. WHO caresssss what they have to say?

It's not a big deal, it's a natural decline. His tennis has not been superb this year by any means, despite where he is in the race is what I'm saying. How many times have we seen a Rafa classic this year? I expect him to play his way back into better form and be good to go at the AO. If not, and he has another subpar clay season, then we'll know this is a permanent slide.

Don't worry MichaelNadal, It's not a permanent slide. Rafa will be back soon. :)

Yes it rained and they closed the roof.

Nadal will get better sure, but he's never been great at the end of the season. Tbh, it's getting a little tiring with everybody thinking he'll always sweep everything every time he comes back because he's "fresher" than everybody else. That is a crock of BS. He can win anything he wants if he plays well enough sure, but he's not the favourite for any end of year tournaments just because he's fresher than everybody else.

I care. I love watching Rafa fans live in denial. Hey he just came back from a layoff! Hey he will get back in form( even if he has only won one title off of clay this year). Hey he will have a great indoor season( yea he always does that). He is taking a pounding by guys who can barely afford MCcdonalds happy meals. Its not like Joker losing to Tsonga or something. He is getting blasted by dudes who have shown no consistency in their lives.

Yeah I think I've entertained him enough...guy wants so hard to believe that Rafa won't round into form and that losing in a 500 defines his legacy

Again, is someone supposed to care besides you? I'm not sure I've cared less about a Nadal loss since Vina Del Mar 2013. Some of us like watching Nadal play tennis, and nothing you type will change that, or take away the pain he's caused you. Like Natf, I've already shown you enough attention as it is and fed into your nonsense.

Sorry charlie. Just trying to bring some reality to Rafa fans. I dont care that you dont care. But I think you care:-?

At Wimbledon? news to me, pass me some of that stuff:lol:

Who said where? Nobody even mentioned Wimbledon until you started blowing your trumpet.

I honestly don't know why the haters need to pounce on a loss that doesn't even matter. Who cares about a 500 tournament especially when it's his first one back lol it's like they live to see Nadal fail. Ok, have a good night, I'm sure you'll sleep well knowing Nadal didn't win the highly important Beijing title.

Novak is going to rack up another one to add to his goat status along with his Belgrade and Basel titles. Who can stop this man?

That's 0030 my time I think, I may try to stay up although Ill be tired

Yeah if it was on at midnight I'd make the effort to watch it. I have the feeling it could be a cracker. Always a pain when tennis moves away from Europe.

Now THAT's what Im talking about! My alarm is already set for 0530. Got a wee feeling about this one......

Murray will save tennis in his snazzy tight kit ;)

Gutted Rafa lost. I was relying on him to take the Berdman out.

It would be a shame for Andy to gun down Novak only to lose to Tomas...

Do you prefer a Rafa/Muzza clash to seeing Murray take on Berdych batz?

Yeah, I pretty much expect Berdy to be awaiting Novak or Andy in the final. Klizan, like most dangerous floaters of the Rosol type, probably won't be able to repeat that level in the next round and Berdy's been playing great. As with Novak, the courts and atmosphere of Beijing seem to suit his game particularly well.

I'm guessing Batz thinks that as Murray has already beaten Nadal twice in ATP hardcourt finals, there was a decent chance he could have "three-peated" whereas he has never played Berdych in a final and their match-up has always been a tricky one for him!

Your Jedi mind skills are exemplary Sir! I hate it when Andy plays Tomas. He is kryptonite.

As Mainad has already stated, I'd rather Andy played Rafa. Berd is a problem for Andy on any surface.

In 2007, Federer lost 3 times to a player ranked outside the top 50.

In 2014, Nadal has now lost 3 times to a player ranked outside top 50.

Don't get too excited...

Don't just selectively choose one year. Expand that over thier respective careers as top 3 players. I'm interested to see the results.

Lol at Nadal. I'm at work, I was seeing the live scores 2 hours ago. Rafa was 7-6 4-2 and now I see he lost. Nice.

didn't watch any matches till now..
who do you think is in the best form atm to win?

My bet would be on Djokovic, though Murray seems to be regaining good form just as well. Too bad they'll have to battle it out in the semi.

As for the other half... Berdych has been cruising so far, but hey, wasn't that the case as well at the USO this year, until he met Cilic?
Here's hoping Klizan will be able to Cilic him. :p

Seems to me Murray is going to win, because "good for tennis", after all he is scraping for points and fans still expect the "Big Four" (yes they still consider Murray one of the big four) to shine at the circus show called WTF.
