Wow, really nice match. Just tuned in for the third set and am liking what I'm seeing. Richy was up 3-0 in the third but Vasek got it back and has just broken Gasquet and will serve for the match at 6-5

The BEST thing about Pospisil's performance this week has been his mental toughness. That was considered his biggest weakness but he's breaking those barriers this week!

When do you think he got to bed? Actually to sleep. Please an educated guess if you are capable...

I don't know and I don't care. All I know is he's winning in a tough third set, don't see at all that he's been tired since the first set as you mentioned.

No need to make excuses for the guy.

yesterday match got over at around 11:15.

Given the adrenaline, he would have gone to bed around 1:00.

And could have slept 10 hours until 11 for a hit and his match at 1. Or could have not slept at all thinking about the match. Or maybe he follows a stricter schedule

Thing is: who cares? He won the match anyways. No need for excuses either way.

Hopefully he beats the other Canadian now.

Gasquet? What can you say about him? Same as always....

We get it already. Post something worth reading. It was a good match in which Pospisil overcame Gasquet, he was outplayed. No chocking involved.

Anyone see that RPM statistic earlier in the match? It showed Gasquet having close to 65 some MPH 6000 RPM on his cross court backhand. That is pretty much Nadal level spin.

Thats if he can settle down right away. Cool down massage, travel if not on site, nutrition...
Exactly, coupled with less than ideal schedule today = Gasquet fortunate.

It was Vasek who pushed the umpire to stop. They could have got in at least a couple of games more, he didnt want to risk.

In any case, Good win for him.

Milos is playing way too good in the tournament, hard to see him lose tomorrow.

He seems to have no issues disposing anyone but the top 4.

WOW WOW WOW

is all I can say.

Oh yes, an
all Canadian Final...a first..

No wonder they were lighting fireworks that I could see from my window in Ottawa tonight!

Sleeping 10 hrs is not good for you either, abd only being awake 2 hrs before the deciding set maybe stop talking about something you are clearly ignorant of? You commented on my post, if you dont care why argue? Sorry, I dont adhere to the thought of draws and scheduling dont mean anything. Some victories are very shallow, I like thinks qualified and quantified. Thats part of why many post here. Sure its conjecture, and the troll element sucks sometimes but still it is a driving force behind the boards.

They come from the Parliament Buildings in the summer and are for the tourists. I am in the Market and see them all the time from my window.

Sportsnet One has been covering the whole tourney. I'm not a huge fan of Milos because of his game. I'm a huge fan because the better he does, the more tennis they pick up. So go Milos.

I watch on tennisTV HD and can watch all the matches again any time I want to.

Programming Alert: Watch Milos Raonic take on Vasek Pospisil in the Citi Open final live Sunday with coverage starting at 3:00 p.m. EST/12:00 p.m

Did You Know that

4 years ago at Rogers Cup in Montreal the team of Raonic and Pospisil beat the doubles team of Djokovic and Nadal in strait sets? And D and N were playing to win.

It still may be on youtube.

Nadal and Djokovic have never played as a team again for good reason.

So thrilled! Don't think I've ever been this pumped about an ATP 500 event but whatever. This is huge for Canadian tennis. The strides Raonic, Bouchard and now Pospisil have made this year are beyond massive.

It's gonna be a great final tomorrow, no matter what happens.

who do you think will take it ?

I have a feeling Raonic will win. Pospisil is definitely more battle tested and has had a much tougher road to the final but I think that will work against him and he'll hit a wall. You never know, though. Maybe the guy who had to beat Berdych, Giraldo and Gasquet en route to the final will also be able to to beat Raonic to take the title. Certainly isn't far fetched at all.

Should I bet big on Raonic tomorrow ? I am considering a huge wager

Go high on Raonic. He is a huge favorite. I saw him live and he was clutch on all big points.

The analysts have already made up their minds on Milos. He has played fantastic matches and he has made several improvements to his game.

He is easily able to bend down and handle spin. He is really on the attacking on the return games. I expect a straight set victory tomorrow.
