Interesting to note the turning point after the 2014 French Open for all three men...
Federer - in his previous five Grand Slam losses (2013 Australian Open to 2014 French Open), none of the players he lost to went on to win that Grand Slam. I always consider these "bad losses." In Federer's next five Grand Slam losses, four of the five players he lost to at a Grand Slam would go on to win that Grand Slam.
Nadal - in the previous five Grand Slams, he had won three of them and reached the final of another that many thought he would win. In the next five Grand Slams, he would not even reach a semifinal.
Djokovic - in the previous five Grand Slams, he had not won a Grand Slam. In the next five Grand Slams, he would win three of them and reached the final of another that many thought he would win.
