That Djokovic in 4 numbers look good to me. Still a very very dangerous match. Raonic perplexes me. I am not sure what his identity is. He seems to be more dangerous on clay but should be more dangerous on grass. I do like his game.

not that hard to understand, let alone be perplexed.

- raonic doesn't move that well
- raonic can't volley [not the way he should
- raonic doesn't have the agility to be able hit his groundies with consistency on grass.

Grass helps his serve, but how much does that really help? his first serve[220km\h] have similar probabilities to win him the point anywhere he plays. OTOH, grass helps the 195km\h serves of his opponents tremendously, ruining his return game.

- Raonic is not a mental stallion to win a lot of 7-6 7-6 6-7 7-5 matches in a GS.

I've said this before RG'14, in the dimi, nishi and milos thread: More likely[less unlikely] for him to win RG than Wimbledon.

ps Nole in 4 sets. 3 close ones and the other 'not so close'.

Dj in 3. But he will lose to Nadal in final. Djokovic is incapable of defeating Nadal in GS since 2012.

Thank You.
Have a nice day.

Such a beautiful day.

Nadal is injured. I'm afraid Djoko will take it in 3 in the final. 6-4 6-3 6-2

u know guys, when i watched the Simon match, I thought Simon was going to win in straight.

Raonic looked so lost in the first set, Simon was returning and making him move and miss.

Then looked like Simon dropped his level and choked in the second set, then got tired in the 4th set... but hey if Simon push Raonic so hard, i don't see how Djokovic could lose

This match is going to be mental in Rome Milos was three points away from a straight set upset. Milos also got intimidated by Djokovic fist pumping and all that crap. Milos just needs to execute if he can play controlled aggressive tennis he will have a chance to win.

Milos is a smart young player I just hope tomorrow he can bring it. Milos really needs to start beating other top players besides Andy Murray. The pressure is all on Djokovic, if Milos can control his emotions and play clean tennis he has a serious shot to win.

What's wrong with fist pumping? And what exactly is "all that crap" you talk about?

Djokovic was going beyond fist pumping he was screaming loudly trying to intimidate Milos. Other people said the same thing Djokovic clearly got into Milos head. Djokovic did the same thing to Federer at the US Open a few years ago. It is important for Milos to not allow Novak to intimidate him.

Well, your beloved Rafa does the same with all those "vamos" screaming, but it somehow doesn't intimidate you :D

I think it's going to be a mental match too.

Milos has improved so much on the clay, working in Valencia, and with Ljubicic, and also, as I understand it, with Gasquet's old coach.

Novak is playing for Serbian awareness behind that flood, though, too, as well as "just" for the title.

Tough call.

Djokovic (the best returner in the game) in 3 or 4 max.

He ain't the best returner in the game vs. the super big servers. In fact, he's fairly vulnerable to them (Isner, Roddick etc.).
Murray probably is the best against the biggest these days.
Still - good enough to handle Raonic on clay on a cold and slow day, me thinks.

Djoko in 4, perhaps 3 if he's zoning.
That said, this year is difficult to call and stranger things than Raonic beating Djoko tmr has happened (Almagro beating Rafa, wtf!). You can't completely outrule Djoko being unable to get a good read on his serve like in Rome and Raonic sneaking out a win.

The thing with big servers is that when they're on their game, the match is always tight. Raonic can still lose in straight sets but Djokovic can't afford to have bad service games if Raonic serves his best throughout the match. And with his very aggressive forehand, you know he'll be going after every 2nd serve.

I expect a couple tie-breakers in this match, but a win for Djokovic nonetheless.

It wasn't Raonic or Fed got intimidated by the fist pimping; rather those actions gave Djokovic himself a boost.

Raonic winning would be a great news for Tennis. Tennis will win! Nothing better that a young upcoming player uprooting the World #2.

Let's do this, Milosshhhh

Did you think Thiem beating Nadal would have been "great news for tennis"?

No. Because Thiem would have lost the very next match. He's not ready for the big stage yet! But he'll reach there.
Raonic on the other hand, is already a Top 10 player, having a very consistently good season. He's the hope of Canada, and young guns on the tour. :)

Raonic has impressed the hell outta me this tournament. I watched some of him owning Gruntollers and it was incredible to watch really, he was actually moving really well, groundstrokes looked great, and of course he was serving like a boss.

I used to be skeptical of Raonic the most as one of the up and comers, but not anymore. Also those 3 guys (Nishikori, Dimitrov, Raonic) aren't really up and comers anymore. Two are top 10 players and Dimi is close behind at #12.

With that being said, I think Raonic might take a set. He's playing a guy who will give him nothing in Djokovic. Should be interesting after their recent clay battle in Rome.

Djokovic in 3. Raonic had a great match in Rome because Novak was still rusty from the wrist injury.

Good point, forgot about that. He was still fit enough to play though. The way Djokovic has been playing here has been great for the most part except he has been losing his focus at times. For example, he could have beaten Tsonga 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 but dropped serve in the second and he lost the third set to Cilic after cruising in that match for the most part. If Novak has another loss of concentration, then Raonic taking a set is possible.

can't see raonic doing anything extra to be able to beat djokovoc in 5 sets. unfortunately the only way i can see raonic winning is if djokovic gets hurt.

Prob a fan of Raonic and/or does not like Djokovic. Or maybe personally despises Djokovic for some reason for Maybe fist pumping or something and wants him maimed or dead. Not out of the realm according to some tones observed on board.

I am very nervous about this Raonic match. This dude is dangerous. Maybe still too green but I am not counting him out for one second.

The best returner on the tour vs. the best server on the tour...on clay? I'll take my chances with Djokovic, thank you very much.

Sadly, I think the road ends here for Raonic. Not saying I don't have any faith, but come on. It would be a lot to ask of any player to beat Djokovic the way he's playing.

I'm just hoping the match is as competitive as possible. Raonic probably won't win but he can do some damage to Djokovic, for sure. Put it this way, if it results in 3 comfy sets for Djokovic I'll be disappointed. Raonic can bring it more than that at this point in his career.

If Raonic comes out on fire and takes the first set I can see it going 5, though Djokovic will win in the end.

Otherwise Djokovic in 4. 6-3, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
