OP: Interesting that no one (so far) picks Radwanska to win--a big differecne from the past couple of years, where some were selling her as a "natural" to win the Wimbledon title.

I guess she's pulled the stunt of not winning when the draw opens up too often for anyone to trust her.

I don't know what's more asinine, this statement or the tone of utter certainty in which you're saying it.

Serena sure as hell won't go back to back? Azarenka sure as hell ain't winning it? Feel free to, ya know, offer some sort of explanation.

Do not expect one; he has a blood hatred of Serena, so he will say anything to damn her.

Does anyone know if Pironkova is in Venus' side of the draw? I'd love for them to meet so Vee can hopefully wipe her off the court lol. I'll never understand how she managed to beat Venus so convincingly both times they met here, even though Venus was admittedly out of her prime. Pironkova should never get to thinking that she's better than the queen on grass haha.

Venus wins 6-2 in the 3rd! Good on Venus for not getting flustered by that 2nd set and taking care of business in the 3rd.

On to the 2nd round!

Yessss! Kirilenko def. Stephens 6-2, 7-6. Finally gets a decent win under her belt. Hopefully she has a good run here!

Seeded players getting through without much trouble on Day 1.

Kvitova [6] def. Hlavackova 6-3 6-0

Cibulkova [10] def. Wozniack 6-1 6-2

Garcia is leading 3-0 double-break in the third against Errani. The match was interrupted yesterday due to rain. While Errani isn't exactly a very well known grass courter, there's still a significant rank difference between the #14 and and the #46 in the world.

Yes! The sooner Erani is defeated the better. Go Garcia.

Lisicki playing with confidence; she made short work of her opponent, but as always with Lisicki, will she ever win her favorite major?

Errani erased her second break when Garcia was serving for it. I believe the difference in experience to be of high importance in this match. And I've already seen matches Garcia lost due to her lack of experience in those moments.
EDIT: After having a 6-5 ball, Errani handed Garcia her serve on a DF. Garcia will attempt once again to serve for the match.

And Garcia won on a love game. Thanks for the errors in the two last games miss Errani. 2-6, 7-6[3], 7-5. EDIT: In other news, Bencic lost the first set to Rybarikova 6-2, and Keys leads by a set and a break against Puig, 3-1 in the second set.

Bouchard and Hantuchova warming up now. Such an unfortunate draw for Bouchard. Hantuchova is about as good a 1st round opponent as they get if you're a seeded player.

Bouchard again comes up big after finding herself in her trademark situation: Down a break 4-5 in the set, her opponent serving for the set, and she wins 3 straight games to take the set 7-5.

She must have done this a couple times at the French Open as well.

Yessssss! Garcia def. [14] Errani 2-6, 7-6, 7-5, awesome win. Really glad Errani is out, she has no business making it far in Wimbledon.

Also, Duval def. [29] Cristea 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, really good win for Vicky. She's been playing pretty well for her first real year on tour, kinda bummed for Cristea though. She hasn't been doing well lately.

Lastly, Madison Keys def. Puig 6-3, 6-3. Great day with the results.

Wow, didn't see that coming. Hantuchova was reading her serve well and Bouchard wasn't making a lot of 1st serves.

She's definitely been doing that a lot lately. Hopefully she clean up this match in straights and then be ready for her next one.
