Federer is the defending champion. Goffin was the finalist last year. Nishikori withdrew with shoulder injury.
I'm not sure about Raonic. He withdrew from a tournament this week.

Other players include Cilic, Isner, Thiem, Dimitrov, Karlovic and the fast-rising Gulbis.

I hope this tournament will be a lot of fun.

I think Federer can defend here - if he gets a comfortable opening round and doesn't play passively, he'll warm himself up and can beat anyone in the draw.

Mannarino, Ramos, Janowicz and others want a piece of the action. Qualifer draw here and main draw (eventually tomorrow):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Swiss_Indoors_–_Singles

Quite the player list and most playing really well, can't wait for the main draw:
3 Roger Federer
4 Stan Wawrinka
7 Rafael Nadal
9 Milos Raonic
10 Gilles Simon
12 Kevin Anderson
12 Richard Gasquet
13 John Isner
14 Marin Cilic
16 David Goffin
19 Dominic Thiem
20 Ivo Karlovic
24 Viktor Troicki
26 Grigor Dimitrov
27 Jack Sock
28 Andreas Seppi
34 Philipp Kohlschreiber
35 Alexandr Dolgopolov
36 Leonardo Mayer
78 Lukas Rosol
117 Ernests Gulbis

I'll add that interesting subtext for many of these players is getting seeded for Auz open (making top 32). Dimi is on the ropes and it is a real feeding frenzy with Sock, Mayer, Seppi, Kohlschreiber, Dolgopolov being around the bubble. Gulbis on a major roll so far this week and is in that mix.

Roger's been playing very well recently (apart from the Shanghai blip) and always plays well at his home tournament. Got to be the favourite yet again. Whoever wants to stop him is going to have to be in really good form!

On paper it should be Federer hands down, but after the super weird loss vs Ramos it hurts my confidence in that prediction. I don't understand why he came to Shanghai in poor form

Nadal actually looks capable of beating anyone there even right now. Might be a sneaky win for him that nobody sees coming.

anyone going for a surprise borna coric v milosh raonic final then ?...*tumbleweed ambles through thread*....that'll be nobody at all then.

Not a poor form! But a lefty and lack of luck.

Ramos-Vinolas just lost his qualy match. Federer must be relieved.:D
Don't know why he isn't playing Valencia. Must enjoy playing spoiler!

Rafa has a real shot if he plays like he did in Shanghai. Whatever happens I hope we get a Roger-Rafa match! I believe their last meeting was AO 14? It's been too long.

Nadal's path could be- Rosol, Dimitrov, Cilic, Wawrinka, Federer

Federer's- Kukushkin, Kohly, Goffin, Anderson, Wawrinka/Nadal

Honestly, it is a very strong field with solid players.

I think Cilic is the scariest guy on path to the final for Nadal. Rosol, Dimitrov, Wawrinka are all very doable.

Nobody forced you to come on here. Lol, you voluntarily enter a thread for a Swiss tournament just to vent? Guess not much going on in your life at the moment!

Lmao ikr?

I see this in all kinds of different things completely unrelated to tennis where people randomly say stuff like that. Makes no sense =D

I have tickets for monday, will see the Bull live! Really excited

As for making some predictions, I am pretty sure Wawrinka will crash out early (he always plays terribly bad in Switzerland, can't manage the pressure to play in his home country), Federer is obviously the strong favorite to win it and I feel Nadal is the dark horse here.
