I'm afraid I will jinx it, but.... go Pospisil go!!
You jinxed it. gogo the jinx.

Sousa has been playing well. Pops did nice job with a hot Brands. Sousa is very solid. Popsicle needs to pressure him with pace.

..... Sousa 6-4, 6-4.

:mad:Epic choking by Johnson. 6 match points wasted in breaker.

Oh my god...

Johnson completely shot himself in the foot with ridiculous impatience. Just play like you had been the entire match, play normal, and you probably win one of those match points.

Johnson is one of the biggest chokers on the ATP tour. Until last week he had reached several semifinals but never a final. This week takes the cake though about blowing his opportunity to win a final. 6 MP to reach the final yet failed...

Yeah...I jinxed him. But congrats to Sousa. He played the better match. Vasek just wasn't sharp enough today, so didn't deserve it.

Made Rosol's gifting of match to Rafa this week look not to bad.

Is he saying it will not take place anymore? What's happened?

yeah, I mean it's tough for me not knowing Spanish (regretfully) and with the Google translation (a Spanish speaker here would help) but it sounds like the government there was involved with the tournament but no longer will do it because there's a new government that doesn't want to honor the deal...I think

the women's tournament in Connecticut has a similar arrangement...but yes, other cities are going to have an opportunity to take that week's 250 somewhere...though Ferrero seems to believe he can get it back one day...they do have that unique stadium there, that's cool

Well done. Thought I heard that Vienna was going to be same week as Basel, but 2016 Calendar shows that in flux with Valencia. Valencia had a deep 32 player qualifier draw too. Seems like Vienna will definitely move to same week as Basel with abscence of Valencia.

I wonder if ATP can replace the tournament with such short notice.

Why on earth wouldn't the local government not want to protect a tournament that has brought annual prestige to its city for more than a decade? It's a great shame that Sousa will not now have an opportunity to defend his title and we will no longer get to see that wonderfully designed stadium!! :(
