Bold, because Murray not the most reliable horse.

Murray is actually very reliable horse as far as he is facing players ranker lower/inferior to him. This season, he is even more reliable with something like 58-4 record facing opponents other than Fedovic and he has perfect 10-0 record against Top Ten if we exclude matches against Fedovic. So I believe in him to some extend. He is equally unreliable facing better/Big 3 players though.

Apart from an early hiccup in that 2nd set, very solid performance by the Muzziah.
No business for Ferrer being there playing like this.

Good win , but I don't expect much from Murray here. I think he will lose in the semifinal.

By the way, what a horrible day Ferrer had with his serve, 8 DF??

Muzziah winning in straights, the main event tonight will be interesting. Because if Muzziah is in the mood this week, this group could get very interesting.

Exactly, the only really bad loss in a big tournament was vs Anderson at the US open. He has gone awol in a few 500's though

All hail the Muzziah, a 6-4, 6-4 victor over the Spanish Terrier!
Winner of Stanimal v Rafa next up. Not expecting, Murray to beat either, but that is what makes this group a great one to watch because Murray just might do it and assuming we have a Stanimal in the house all of these matches will be great.

Really? I feel Murray would be a favourite against either at this stage (certainly against Rafa). If Stanimal shows up things could get interesting for sure.

The clear head to head outcomes are in the distant past for Murray v Nadal. Wawa plays Murray well and Stanimal has never played Murray.

Its possible that Murray plays Nadal better on clay at this point, which is very strange. Someone intimately familiar with Murray needs to study the Head to Head with Nadal and let us know (@Mainad ;)).

Why? Murray should be able to beat Rafa, and when Stan is off, he'll have no problem beating him just the same.

His 12th I think, his record is 14 in 2009.

2009 is another very underrated season of Andy Murray. Basically everything else other than his 2012-13 seasons is quite underrated while above two seasons are overrated with every possible way. In this season he almost scored same number of Top Ten wins as that of 2012 and 13 seasons combined and yet majority seems to believe, he was far better back then. Same goes to 2009. Excessive Slam centric and results oriented approach leads view like this.

2 you mean. 1-0 for the season against the other one. 100% record would be another way of describing it. Muzziah be praised/

2009 was one of his better seasons for sure, he was great in the non slams and unfortunate to run into some good opponents in the majors.

35/2013 QF US Open Hard Stan Wawrinka Andy Murray 6-4 6-3 6-2 Murray just before back surgery
16/2013 R16 Monte Carlo Masters Clay Stan Wawrinka Andy Murray 6-1 6-2
40/2012 QF Tokyo Outdoor Hard Andy Murray Stan Wawrinka 6-2 3-6 6-2
31/2012 R64 Olympic Tennis Grass Andy Murray Stan Wawrinka 6-3 6-3
41/2011 R16 Shanghai Masters Hard Andy Murray Stan Wawrinka 6-4 3-6 6-3
35/2010 R32 US Open Hard Stan Wawrinka Andy Murray 6-7(3) 7-6(4) 6-3 6-3

I think Wawrinka can hit through Andy on slow surface which is how you beat Murray. O2 looks gritty enough for Stan to keep UE's down and give him time to unload. On faster surface I'd expect Murray to win (Wimbledon for sure, hot day at US Open, The Real Slam.) On slow its all Stan, but I don't remember Murray's form for each and everyone of these matches. The 2013 Monte Carlo is pretty shocking. Magnus Norman started coaching Wawrinka in early 2013.

Finally realizing that the world no.2 deserves some respect now, are we ?

Is Ferrer injured or is the age finally showing ? (He is 33, in case you don't remember)

No matter what, 8 DFs is way too uncharacteristic of him.

I think that in the US Open 2013 QF the Stanimal was released, don't you think? Murray played bad, but that guy was a beast, he destroyed Andy in 3 sets.

I think so and also I believe another beast was released against him in 4R USO 2015. His defensive game is kind of soft target for players to release their beast modes.

2009 was a nice season for him indeed, but in the slams he was bad. Specially because of the 4R in AO and USO loss..

What a match that was vs the very best of Verdasco in Australia, 5 amazing sets. What I don't remember, was Murray 2 sets up??

In 2009 vs Cilic in the USO happened the same, too defensive, then Cilic destroyed him. Vs Wawrinka in the USO 2010 R3 I don't remember if he was too defensive that day, I remember Wawrinka playing some great tennis at the end of the match.

Muzziah and Rafa are tied at 5-5 on hard courts (last hard court meeting was in Tokyo in 2011 where God-Mode Muzziah destroyed Nadal 6-0 in final set for loss of 4 points). Also has 2 nice wins at the hard court Slams. Rafal not playing his very best tennis either.
Stan looks like the harder of the two opponents for Muzziah - but Errorinka could turn up and hand over the match too

No, Murray was 2-1 up in sets - Fernando played a great match to prevail 2-6, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 that day and played a fantastic tournament (pushed Rafa to the limit)

Congrats to Murray, blnt Ferrer, Ferrer needs to rework the 2nd serve never misses. dbl faults are the only free points. 8 dbl faults too many.

Cheers
3Fees :)
