Tough one to call. If it wasn't for the Paris match I would hink this is where Murrays AO ends. But he beat him 6-3 6-3 when he was supposedly gassed out and in theory he should be much better now after an off season training block (first sine 2012).

Murray in 4??

Gonna be a close match.

Definitely the first match I won't wake up expecting to see that Murray has won in straights.

I wasn't here back then - but what were the predictions like before the Wimbly QF last year? I'd imagine very similar? So many Muzza fanboys 'broken hearts. . .

I hope it a good match. If Dimitrov wins he better not fluff against Nadal or Djokovic.

Murray winning...will be a statement of him being ready to win.

I don't think Murray passive tennis will work here. He better play aggressive, hopes.

Were you thinking Dimitrov would beat Murray at Brisbane? Or how about at Paris?

I bet you were pretty gutted those days.

That's how I felt when Murray lost to Dimitrov, so nothing to be ashamed of. All people get disappointed a little when one of their favorites lose. It's natural.

I thought he ll take a set in Brisbane - that's all

Paris - no chance on that surface - Murray had all the momentum from Valencia and Asia prior

But didn't Dimitrov have the momentum from "destroying" Murray at Wimbledon?

Didn't Murray have the momentum beforehand with a RG SF and not dropping a set until meeting Dimitrov?

It matters little.. Murray simply has the upper hand because he's better than Dimitrov right now (I could easily be proven wrong as Dimitrov has a shot at beating Murray of course).

I'd be gutted if it happened a second time, but I'm not expecting Murray to beat him down in straights either. Dimitrov is not a nobody, he's an established top player. It's gonna be tough.

No need to hide your hate, buddy

Momentum refers to the last 2 tournaments max - not some months back. Murray was on form in Paris - Dimitrov imploded after Wimbly last year after those missed SPs in the 4th -big points to defend in 2015 - litmus test like no other

Dimitrov lacked that killer instinct against Baghdatis. He never really looked comfortable hitting out. He had good depth and placement, but he's gonna have to step up the aggression a notch if he wants to beat Murray again.

For the last time, I don't hate Dimitrov!

A single match didn't affect Dimitrov for the whole season, surely? Come on now. I'm sure he got over it quicker than you're implying.

green or blue doesnt matter: grigor to beat andrew barron "muzzette" murray, officer of the order of the british empire, in straight sets.

LOLz!

Must watch match for me. They must place this on Rod Laver Arena. (but won't happen actually because of two Aussie players competing same day In fourth round.)

I haven't watched Dimitrov much so far but reading comments here, I feel he's not playing well but Murray looked very solid so far.

Dimitrov's serve is major factor here. If his spot serve starts working well, it's almost unbreakable. In this case he's winning this in 4 including 2 TBs or may be in 5 grinding Murray out based on his superior fitness levels.

If Dimitrov serves average, Murray wins this in 4.

My prediction- Dimitrov in 4. (7-6 3-6 7-6 6-2)

I think this will be a really good match. I'll say Murray in 4, but I could see the reverse as well. I could also see it going 5 and going either way, but I don't think it'll be straights either way.

Never been a fan of Murray but would think this is going to be a dogfight. Murray has more a little more experience but we will see if Dimitrov can raise his game more and get Murray to start crying to himself when he starts choking in D's serve game. I don't know which Murray will be showing up so I'm picking Dimitrov in 4. (7-5 4-6 7-6 6-4)

Murray in 3 or 4 - -

Great to see the game is on Rod Laver - last one for the day. Well played by the organisers - expected another home boy desperate shove

I'm very interested in this match.
This is the first professional tennis match of 2015 that Murray will play against a top opponent. This is where we will see if he has really improved since last year.

Either that, or more people than I anticipated think Murray will win.

Why would anyone hate Grigor? He seems like a genuinely good guy.

This is such an important match for both players. If either doesnt show up with their A game it will bea bad sign for therest of the year. That said Murray's A game should beat Dimitrov...

The big questions are... Does Murray still have his A game and what happens if Dimitrov develops a better A game? Those questions are what is driving all of theinterest. It is thefirst truly big match of the year and it looks like a completly impossible match to call considering all of the variables.

Good for tennis

I'm debating whether to sleep for a few hours, then wake up and watch it...

Or just staying up altogether.

Either way, it sucks for the US West Coast. And of course, AO HAD schedule this match as the very last match.

I am ready for Grigor Dimitrov to win tonight. I have my knitting basket ready and coffee brewing. Up late, even for the Pacific Time Zone...

If Andy loses this, he's never going to live it down.. It would be his first loss before the QF since 2010.

Okay. Opting for 3 hours of sleep now and expecting it to be begin at around 9 pm local time. Setting the alarm clock.

nn.

sucks even more for us in the east...tough decision for me too...I do tape it in case I fall asleep

I'm just. Too. Tired.

Enjoy the matches.

Hopefully this nap works out and it doesn't turn into full blown sleepingtons.

I expect Murray in four this time, but it could be three as well. He was really flat in their Wimbledon match last year, as well as Dimitrov played. I don't think that will happen again and he's really starting to find rhythm.

That said, I hope Dimitrov wins though, but both seem like nice guys.

Going with a gut feeling here. Murray in 3. Perhaps an inspired Dimitrov for one set makes it 4, but I don't see how he wins this match.
