I am not the one who is upset. When i mentioned the players Rafa is facing this AO, you guys couldn't handle the truth.

I will be upset should he go and win the title, but we have a week left. :)

Rafa at the last AO was a different player than what he is today. He is low on confidence. With a half decent draw, we may not be certain he would still be around.

Yeah lucky he didn't run into Lu, Bolleli and Seppi...

I am happy for rafa. However when I watch these types of matches I really dont think the ATP is more competitive than the WTA.

You said, "anything other than Novak in the finals will be the biggest travesty in recent history."

What if Nadal beats Murray and then Novak to win the title? What excuses will you come up with then? The truth is some fans are never satisfied and they always find excuses to demean the results of the players they dislike and it is pitiful. It doesn't matter if it is Fed fans doing it or Nadal fans. It is really distasteful.

Yes, Nadal got an easy early draw. There is no doubt about that but at the end of the day from the SF round to the final he will have to beat the best of the best players to win the title and really that is all you can ask for.

P.S. As soon as I saw the draw I predicted Nadal would make the final.

If Nadal beats Murray and Novak, then I am pretty sure no one would take a dig.

But if we see a sub par Murray and a gassed out Nishikori / Stan , then it does not have the same zing as the former.

And i did mention "should he not face Novak'. If he faces Novak and wins then it is all the more worthy.

Seppi would have owned Nadal the way he played. He also moves better than Anderson. You have to be a fool to not see that. Seppi has played top players tough a few times now, for multiple sets. KAnderson has not...

Rafas water bottles were blown over by the wind and the crowd is oohing and ahhing. Rafa seems to think it's pretty funny that everyone thinks he's going to lose if the bottles fall over

Rafa was laughing at the fact that the ball boy aligned the bottle just the way he likes it, and that the crowd responded accordingly. I think he is amused that everyone knows his idiosyncrasy.

I hate those after match interviews. But the before match ones that they do at some tourneys are worse.

It's a sort of accepted insanity, this on court interview thing. They always say the same things or come up with the most expected trivia. It's the death of everything that's spontaneous.

Pffft. Berrer wasn't even in the draw.

Coric no chance and Klizan even managed to lose to him at Wimbledon

Shows how little you know clown.

Suck it up, Nadal still alive, Feddy bear out in R3...

Let's see how he handles Novak. :)

Djokovic fans had better be wary about other threats before any final, including the reigning champion, Wawrinka. Nadal fans also have to be wary of other threats before any final. Honestly, with Wawrinka winning the Australian Open last year, and Cilic winning the US Open, you'd think this old mentality of the big 4 being certain to win will have faded off somewhat, but it seems old habits die hard.

Sorry i hit a nerve . :)

Berrer played qualifying, you should feel lucky he didnt make it to main draw.

Isnt your logic normally based on the most recent matches ?

Of course many people will. Whom are you kidding?

Look, if he plays any form of Murray and beats him it will be a big feat. Murray has been in much better form the past few months and Nadal has been absent and has been playing like crap when he has been around. Murray will look like an idiot if he loses to Nadal but Nadal has a very good record vs Murray at the slams so you have to like Nadal's chances vs Murray in a slam.
Re Stan, if Nadal meets a Stan in any form again, I bet you any money Nadal won't lose to him. NIshikori is more of an unknown but I think if Nadal gets to another AO final, I doubt he is losing. You have to go with him because he is the better slam player vs anybody else. He just is. It is what it is.

Let's see how he handles Novak. :)

Nadal has beaten Djokovic in their last 4 slam matches.
The most lopsided was 2013 US Open, 6-1 in 4th set.
I wasn't convinced by Djokovic at 2012 AO (which he somehow needed 6 hours to win, despite the gigantic mental edge he had at the time), and I'm certainly not convinced now.
Nadal the clear favorite.

Yea I would just like to see them face off. I dont know when the last time it happened and they are both coming back from injuries ect. I think it would be a good dramatic match.

You obviously can't remember the last time they met. This was what happened:

Year Tournament & City Surface Round Winner & Score
2014 Roland Garros
France Clay S Nadal, Rafael def Murray
6-3, 6-2, 6-1

Yea true didnt remember that. But hell thats clay and Andy was exactly playing well.

I guess he must of been playing decent to get to the semis but I dont know with lack of good clay courters in the game now a days that doesnt impress me to much.

You also need to consider that Nadal is 7:2 against Murray in slams and one of Andy's 2 wins was a retirement by Rafa at OZ in 2010. Overall Rafa h2h against Andy is 15:5 and in slams, Rafa is 25:7 against the Big 4.

Well thats cool I am not saying Rafa would not win. Far from it. I just would like to see them play.

Look at it this way. At the time of the 2014 Australian Open, Nadal led Wawrinka 12-0 in the head-to-head, and hadn't lost a single set. Who won the final?
You are one of the smartest guys around this place, but I hope you are not one who thought Nadal was just faking it when he lost in 2014.

Waw was impressive at the 2014 AO, yes, but to this moment I do not believe he would have beaten a healthy Nadal.

That said, he looks dangerous again this year.

If there were no Nadal Berdy would have won a slam.
If there were no Nadal and Fed and Djokovic, lots of people would have won slams.

What impresses me is that Murray, facing all of them, DID do it twice. And if he did it again, this year, it would put a HUGE smile on my face.

?
??

Shall I get the same you're smoking now? Murray won his both slams avoiding both Federer and Nadal. During 2004-14 period 41 out of 44 GS titles either won by Fedal or players beating one of Fedal or both. Murray won 2 out 3 exceptional GS titles in last decade with lowest possible competition.

Keep smiling now.

You don't remember who he beat in the finals to win them D.Nalby?

Look at Rafa's draw - Retired Youzhny, Challenger Smyzcek, ATP 250 Sela, Choker Anderson, Pigeon Berdych, Injured Murray.

It is USO 2010 and 2013 all over.

Anything other than Novak in the finals will be the biggest travesty in recent history.

"travesty?"

You are so paranoid of Nadal winning another major (anywhere) that you post wild, nowhere-near-reality statements.

His extremist hate for Nadal is well known, that's why his "travesty" post has no connection to reality whatsoever. Professional tennis has witnessed true travesties in recent history (the Hewitt USO attack on Blake stands above them all), but his language used against Nadal illustrates how he ignores it all, because Nadal threatens to win another major. Of course, move closer to matching, or one day passing Federer. That is why he could misuse language in a situation that is just another match.

Yeah, Raffa was all smiles.
Nice clinical match from Raffa. He does love a target and Anderson is a big one:)
