W/E ratio 21/11. Very impressive.

Apparently Federer has adjusted with low quality balls very well.. Waiting for Rafael to do so.

It does reward attacking tennis, as you can see by Federer's records here. There's so much bite to Federer's shots. If you, like Federer can combine power, speed and topspin it will favour attacking tennis.

Remember the court isn't slow, in relative terms, it's medium speed, but still a very 'reactive surface'.

It's a slow surface. My club uses it. I don't need to go by the adjective that the ATP website uses. I have actually played on all the surfaces.

Berdych absolutely owns Federer. I think the reason for this is unlike other big hitters, Federer's strategic niceness hasn't caused him to take it easy on Federer. Whereas other guys who could bully Federer around the court and blow away his soft shots feel bad about it and take it easy on him, costing them the matches, Berdych is immune to that. He goes out there and makes Federer look like a child.

So, final score, 6-4, 6-0, yup, he owns him ok. Oh, wait....:twisted:

So Berdych lost with a bagel in AO
Lost with a bagel in Dubai
And lost with a bagel in IW

He's going to end up with insulin resistance after having so many carbs stuffed down his throat.

Dear Roger,
Thank you for winning. I will have the pleasure of seeing you play LIVE for the first time tomorrow...on my birthday!

In terms of standards of any time before ~2002, there is no fast surfaces. Medium-slow is fastest, which has been the US Open courts since 2004.

They are using different balls now though.

Didn't see the match but man he destroyed Berdych. Looks like it will be a top 4 semi final line up as Nadal should beat raonic especially knowing fed is waiting.

So Fed just bageled the guy who bageled Nadal at AO this year.

And yet, does that mean anything for the likely Fed - Nadal clash tomorrow? Probably not.

Tennis is weird.

No doubt Fed's playing very well but I can't recall the last time I saw Berdych play so poorly, especially his serve.
BUT: Birdy has been on again, off again during his whole career, and that's the reason he doesn't win titles. He can't string several great matches together.

Credit to Fed, that was a great performance. If he continues playing like that he has to be the favourite to win the whole thing.
This surface is very different from Dubai though. Fed has never beaten Djoko in IW for instance (0-2). Also Berd is eating bagels from a lot of guys. People should be careful about jumping to conclusions here. Even Sock did not get bageled...

That...was...AWESOME!!!! :D:D:D

To get rid of a boogeyman like Berdych with a bagel is mightily impressive and pleasing to watch.

Indeed.

It used to be very frustrating to watch Bird slapping Federer on regular basis during 2010-11 period all because of **** Annacone tactics and his stubbornness in updating himself.

All thanks to Mr Edberg's and Wilson Engineers developing perfect setup for his new frame which is keeping him in pace with younger rivals.

From what I've seen in last 14 months, I'm fully convinced that Federer has managed to overcome matchup problems with two younger second tier players. T. Bird and A. Murray will always have hard time winning sets against FedBerg, till he significantly declines.

But Federer is such a tough match-up for Djokovic, he can beat him anywhere.
I can see him doing the same thing on Sunday. :(

Just recently you had said that Tomas is playing great this year....
Now because Roger crushed him, you want to eat all your words...

No matter what anyone thinks,
Look at this match & this is how he played day in day out during his peak years.

Lol, I just realised that Berdych has now had bagels from Federer, Djokovic and Murray so far this year and yet he himself gave one to Nadal in Aus!

Considering how badly Nadal owns him that is funny. Mind you Djokovic probably owns him just as much.

Yep. I agree. I had doubts before but I think it starts to work.

But I still think he retrieves to baseline if match gets tight. That is still a stubborn issue against Djokovic, Nadal and Murray( in form ).
