I hope Chardy builds on this and not just play out the next year cuddled up to these Semi Final points, I want to see him in the top 20!

Problem is with that kind of game he's never gonna be consistent, I mean he plays similar to Rosol, there will always be bad days
But its great to watch when his game is on

That is good reason to tank now. If he is going to tank, it's better to tank against non-top players.:D
Players that win at this level don't tank m1000s. It's not in their nature.

Too much tennis tonight, will go to sleep after midnight!

yeah, Djokovic might be pondering about tanking point right now. He has an elbow issue, it appears ?

If Gulbis bothers him enough, he might decide to fold, IMHO.
This, plus he's looked kinda bored all week to me. I'm not sure if he's all that bothered about winning this tournament tbh.

Both him and Rosol slap the ball, they can come up with huge upsets i.e. Nadal. However, their games can disappear against some mediocre players.

It depends on what you mean by "tank".
Top players just don't have same level of motivation at every match.
Top players, for example, has less motivation to win in the winter season when year end #1 has been decided.

They would still be looking to win a match but only up to certain level of efforts if it is not important matches.

I do like surprises, and I'm happy for lower ranked players when they're able to go on a run from time to time, but I just hate that players like Chardy - and likely the headcase Gulbis - can just waltz into a Masters 1000 SF. Does anyone else feel this way? I feel like it cheapens what are supposed to be the highest level tournaments on the tour (Grand Slams are ITF).

Guess, what? Tennis Channel has not yet resumed the Isner/Chardy match. I have NO idea what is going on with this horrible channel.

What a joke.

It's happening again. It is 9 PM. The coverage on TT has the same people jawing about what happened the last couple days because supposedly ESPN has the coverage. Well, it's continuing on ESPN, but I have no idea if they will show the rest of the matches.

I hate it when TT and ESPN keep juggling back and forth, meanwhile there are things like arm wrestling and little league going on. So annoying.

Gulbis turns up to play tennis and it is beautiful. Pity he got broken, though. I wonder if he can come back from this now.

Chardy also gave Djokovic a present by beating Isner. Isner has been hefty for Novak recently and I was looking forward to their match. I wish Chardy doesn't fold easily.

That should do it for Djokovic. I think he has Rogers Cup in his bag. What a great run he's having. Hasn't lost at Masters 1000 all year.

Djokovic wins 5-7 7-6 6-1 and will face Jeremy Chardy next! Btw, does anyone happen to know how late matches have gone the latest until in Montreal usually? I can just imagine a real backlog of matches tomorrow that could cause a scheduling mess. (I say this because I highly doubt the organizers will allow the Murray-Tsonga match to play today, which would mean squishing in 2 semis with 1 quarter.)
