Well it's Karlovic's to lose now. Last years finalist. It'd be funny if he won. 2013 finalist Hewitt won in 2014. then 2014 finalist wins in 2015. Who will be the finalist this year who wins next year ;)

I saw the end of the Tomic match and was shocked at his obvious lack of effort.Tomic wasn't even bothering to run for the ball with any proper urgency or effort.
Get the feeling this tourney pays decent appearance fees. Sinner Bernard prolly took the $ and ran

I like Haas' chances in the top half if he can get past Mannarino. His toughest challenge would be Johnson. Meanwhile, Karlovic needs to watch out for Sock in the bottom half to fulfill the sequence.

Saw all of the Tomic / Smith matchup. Have a few pics up on my IG feed, too much work to post here.

Smith was a 4 time AA at Tennessee and is a dangerous lefty with all the shots. Tomic had a decent demeanor the whole match, he cruised at 5-2 up in the 2nd obviously conserving energy and got broken for 5-3. Smith then played out of his mind, happens.

Smith was 156 when match started......Tomic 24 I believe.

Tomic groundies are impressive, easy massive power. He can straighten out for hardcourt season with hard work, a loss to a crafty lefty on grass is not the end of his season.

Karlovic/ Marchenko was an excellent match......Johnson/ Berrer as well. Good day at the "Casino"!

Recommended to all TT members, good time on the way back machine.

Singles tennis has nothing to do with doubles tennis. Sock and Popsicle win doubles titles, enough said.

Wow, you really are a moron. Pospisil and Sock are ranked #29 and 39 in the world respectively. They're good tennis players who also happen to be world class at doubles. So what the hell is your point?

You prove over and over again that you really don't have a clue about tennis. You really don't.

They are both AWFUL singles players who will NEVER win a significant title.

Yeah, a 250 is significant how?

A guy like Estrella Burgos won a 250 and you're saying these guys can't in singles? Lol?

No, a 250 is not significant is my point lol. Exactly, Burgos won one hahaha.
What is significant to you? And how many 250 titles does a player have to win til they are "good enough" for you? Example, Gasquet has never won a significant title (as you said, awful players will never win a significant title). But he has won 12 ATP250 titles. Is he insignificant? Curious

A few more examples. Gael Monfils has no significant titles. 5 ATP 250 titles. Career high of world number 7. Is he insignificant?
Kevin Anderson, no significant titles. Only 2 ATP 250 titles. career high world number 14. Reached 4R at 3 slams last year and 3R at the other. Pushed Djoko to 5 at Wimbeldon this year but I guess he's insignificant too.
John Isner, no significant titles. 9 ATP 250 titles. career high world number 9. insignificant.

Yes, 15 years from now every player you named will be insignificant. Gasquet will be known as a teenage prospect who never lived up to what he was supposed to be.

Gasquet in 15 years will be talked about as much as Tim Henman is today. Henman won big though, so what's your point?

You are responding to a notorious troll. These people claim to be tennis fans but don't care one iota about it.

Let's hope Tommy gets a swift win in the 3rd set today vs Mannarino because he'd have to play his 2nd round match vs Vasselin later in the day..

Imagine the sickness and embarrassment you must feel when you lose to Dustin Brown. Nadal must feel so down in the dumps losing to that guy.

Some amazing stuff going on at the Hall of Fame.
Aussies are distracted by Tomic drama and Davis Cup but Aussie JP Smith has reached the Semi-finals in Newport. Until this week he had never won a match at a main draw ATP event and now he has won 3 in a row! Great work to JP Smith!

Exciting run for him! He should make a healthy jump up the rankings after all is said and done.

It's not as good as Pete's, but it looks similar, repeatable, and pretty effortless with decent power & spin.

As much as I like Rampras, he starts the serve the same with the knee bend but he sure doesn't explode into the ball the way Pistol Pete did!

Sock just won v. poor Herych who had to retire due to a serious injury to his knew when he slipped on the grass after about 15 mintes of play. . Poor guy is 36 and in the 200's and this may the mark the end of his career...and his income. Sock to play Karlovic in the semi's tomorrow.

Shame about Jan, he got through Qualies to the Quarters, he competes mainly on the challengers now doesn't he. I hope he's ok.

Congrats Ram!!!!

Anyone got any updates on Hernych? I've seen him play a few times in Indianapolis, I love his shovel backhand.

Just catching this match. Wow, Ram takes first set TB. 1-1 in the second. Why don't we hear more about Rajeev? I've seen him in challengers and now this 250 tourney but never hear or see many other results.
