2015 NCAA Tournament - 1st & 2nd Round

South Florida only loses are at TCU, Tulsa, at Ohio State, at Oklahoma, at San Diego, and Penn State in Lexington for ITA Kickoff. Wins include Tulsa, Minnesota, Princeton, Texas Tech, Pepperdine, and Vanderbilt. They have one senior in Oliver Pramming at #3 singles and #1 doubles and Dominic Cotrone is redshirting this year. Might be the only team from state of Florida after today.

Oklahoma once again overcomes their doubles. 4-1 win. Alvarez just continues to play incredible. Papa played well today. Although Harris wins it appears he has back issues. He was up a set and 4-0 and then didn't even try except serves to win 6-2.

It would be a monumental loss if he can't play.

Duke cheated on match point on court 6 and won. Cheap netcord winner on the serve.

oh, you mean the duke team that handicapped itself into a rebuilding season by making decisions that ended up sending the redlicki brothers elsewhere...

that team beat stanford f'ing senseless in singles (three routine straight setters, then winning in the third on all three courts where they dropped the first)?

yeah...

sorry you didn't win the team title this year as (always) predicted

go duke!

granted, dear feddie, this stanford team was much less horrendous than the past couple seasons...perhaps some good years ahead with coach goldstein

According to UNC twitter, this was Esben Hess-Olesen's first singles match since April 9th against Duke (and he retired in that match when trailing 2-5 at #5 singles)

Vtech gets schooled today. Overall the acc and sec look weak in ncaas

Virginia Tech had one of the better #2 seeds in their regional and was one of the lowest-ranked #1 seeds.

The final 16 by conference will probably be:

4: ACC, Big 12
2: SEC, PAC-12, Big 10
1: Ivy League, AAC

Not sure that the ACC is looking weak in NCAAs.

Speaking of weak performances, UCLA played again without Gage Brymer and Texas Tech managed to win one set. This is the Texas Tech team that some people thought might host a regional, and upset Oklahoma, right?

The Illini won a surprisingly tight match vs Drake 4-2.

Going to have a hard time progressing if they don't win the doubles point going forward.

Illinois almost choked at home against lowly Drake. They move on but if they can't perform better than that at home, hard to see them living up to their seed on a neutral court.

Why can't we win or lose with class, our players the last few seasons have turned into something that doesn't represent Texas A&M and being an Aggie. I blame the coaching staff for letting the dis-respect and non-tennis behaviors from the players on the sideline for getting out of control.

From a pure tennis fan aspect, it disgust me how our athletes act. If this was football, or any other sport these players would be off the team

Ole Miss had the other one

Shocking....the 14 and 15 seeds had some of the stronger 2 seeds.

I believe the draws are somewhat random and an attempt to make them regional and separate conference matchups is taken into account in rd. 1 & 2. Holding on your home court should be a massive advantage.

This is the second time in 3 years Ole Miss has hosted and failed to advance. In 2013 I believe they were a 7 or 9 seed when they fell to Memphis.

I've been saying for the last 2 years South Florida is very good and better than their ranking. I look for them to battle Baylor strongly. If they were playing any team ranked below #3, I'd pick them for an upset in the rd. of 16. They only graduate their #3 player this spring.

Can you provide link to the original post. Curious as to what specifically the OP was referring to.

Drake is not "lowly". Any team that makes the NCAAs is respectable

Yes and No, some teams are just more respectable than others, if you're seeded number 4 and at home, you're expected to breeze thru the first two rounds. By the time you reach 16 teams, anyone can knock you off.
