I really like Socks easy and relaxed game and he is easy to watch. Not too much fist pumping, just getting on with the match.

Coric still has a lot of learning to do and it will be interesting to see how his game develops.

Only saw set 3 but basically Sock was untroubled on serve and playing with the sort of confidence that says "I'm winning this match, only question is when." Hitting as many forehands as possible.

Judging by the scoreline it was probably more of that in 1 and 2. Coric went to the drop shot at least 4 times while I was watching. Think he was out of gas and/or ideas

Sock mauled over him with big serving and bigger forehands, and some successful net-game. Coric tried too much to direct the ball towards the Sock backhand, and that didn't work too well. Coric got a bit better in the third and started to take some more chances and spread the play, but it wasn't enough.

Probably yeah, but so would likely most players at this stage, wouldn't you say?

Sock should have better chances than Coric would, and he has way better hold-game than any of the players Nadal has faced thus far, so he could at least make it a bit interesting in a set or two.

Ferrer still looks the best in his half of the draw, 6-0 in 4th set and 5-0 in fifth set so far.
His opponent was tougher than anything Djokovic/Murray/Nadal has face recently.

NBC is more like the Mafia...they prohibit ESPN coverage on their days so all the early matches get shown on tape delay. Time for the worldwide leader in sports to boot them at RG like they did at Wimbledon.

I think if Murray keeps up his present standard of play on the red stuff, Ferrer shouldn't pose a particular problem. I know he's 4-0 against him on this surface but, correct me if I'm wrong, I rather have the impression Murray is a somewhat different player on clay nowadays compared to the version Ferrer used to beat!

Yep, he's quietly coming through each of his rounds in fairly easy straight sets. Not the headcase Cilic we've got used to seeing since his US Open win. He seems to have recovered his confidence. Definitely one to watch!
