I think if Murray keeps up his present standard of play on the red stuff, Ferrer shouldn't pose a particular problem. I know he's 4-0 against him on this surface but, correct me if I'm wrong, I rather have the impression Murray is a somewhat different player on clay nowadays compared to the version Ferrer used to beat!

Am I being unreasonable? :)

We will see. Murray hasn't been tested at all.

Not at all mate. Murray's recent results on the surface justify the confidence you have in him!

Yea I think you are a bit unreasonable.

Ferrer will not be no particular problem. 4-0 tells very much that Murray should have respect and be very obedient.

Interesting... We have a Frenchman playing in 5 of the 8 4th round matches at RG. Got to be one of their best years in a while.

Oh give me a break! He just beat 3 top 10 players on clay in Madrid including the best claycourter of them all and he had a fairly tough match against Sousa yesterday. He just put Kyrgios away quite comfortably. Is it his fault Kyrgios couldn't play him any closer? Ferrer just squeaked past Bolelli in 5 so I hardly think Ferrer is tearing through his draw!

Do you REALLY think the 2015 clay version of Murray is going to lie down for Daveed in the same way previous versions used to do?

Frankly, I'm astonished that I appear to be the only one to think this!

Why does nobody ever want to give Murray a chance against ANY player he ever comes up against?

You don't think Murray respects Ferrer? When did I say he wouldn't respect him?
But Murray is a bit of a different player on clay this year, don't you think? Or don't you think so for some reason?

Didn't mean that you said it specifically, just saying Murray will have.

Murray has indeed looked better on clay than ever, but Ferrer is still Ferrer and Murray has never beaten him on clay.

BUT: I Think Murray will win in the end and make it a first win. Murrays title in Madrid and so far in RG impresses me.

Thought Sock looked really good today against Coric. First real test for Nadal. Hope Sock can score a big win.

I'm trying to remember the last time they actually played on clay, with Murray generally being too rubbish to get that far in competitions the last couple of years. Murray's form has improved, and Ferrer is getting older, but Ferrer is showing remarkable resilience to the ageing process, and he's always fighting.

Let me tell you who's quietly getting his job done. Cilic has just destroyed Mayer. He's a player to watch.

Good point. All this chat about Murray and Ferrer's relative form, and there's a very good chance that Cilic will come through.

Hi Djokovic 2011. Long time no speak :)?How are you feeling about Djokovic's chances this year buddy? I very confident and think he will have enough to beat Nadal in that likely huge QF showdown :)

I'm very well thanks mate, hope you are too. :) But as usual I'm not as confident about Novak's chances as you are lol! Unfortunately I think Nadal will beat him in 4 sets, similar to last year's final. Here's hoping he rebounds as well as he usually does after RG disappointments and wins one of the remaining two majors and a couple more Masters too! :)

I don't know about Nadal winning. I mean, who has he played to this point?

Why does one need to play good players to be able to win the tournament? He's already won the FO 9 times and he's playing pretty good right now. He's won it lots of times when he was in bad shape and everyone was saying he'd definitely not win it this time. Everyone seems so confident that Nadal is going to lose, but I don't know why.

Because most people are always wrong, just like last year when only 20% of ESPN tipped Nadal at Roland Garros, made complete fools of themselves, and are going to suffer even more this time (because the Djokovic hype has been deafening).

2012 RG quarter-final. Ferrer won in 4.

I agree. Cilic has been quietly slipping in under the radar destroying each of his opponents in fairly comfortable straight sets. He won't be a walkover for anybody!

That's good dude. Yeah I am good pal :) Ahh try to stay positive buddy. Nole is arguably playing the best tennis of his life. Up their with 2011 currently. Yes Nadal at RG is always a huge test but Nadal still for me isn't the great Nadal of old on clay.

Djoko can beat him. Plus playing him in quarters is better as less pressure for Novak. Also as it earlier in week the forecast is suggesting it won't be as hot. Only at about max 21 degrees with cloudy skies on that Wednesday.

It hots up towards end of week and at weekend when they usually play. Hopefully that is a break for Djoko and it affects Rafa.

It's gonna be epic but fingers crossed dude! ;)

We will see. You are talking a lot about it. Trying to convince yourself? You know the threat Djokovic poses and deep down you are worried.

Oh believe me mate I'll be keeping everything crossed and holding a rabbit's foot throughout if it means Novak wins the match!

The way he gave away Madrid to Murray. He seemed content to lose. We've never seen Nadal surrender like that but you are right. Never count Rafa out at RG.

If Federer-Monfils is a long one, Fed will be vulnerable to Wawrinka and I would definitely rate Stan's chances.

...assuming both win of course.

Nadal most be spitting feathers at this weather lol. Meanwhile Djoko is rubbing his hands with delight. Djoko already favourite and with the current weather which is expected to remain Similiar to this come Wednesday. Happy days :)

About time Nadal gets some bad luck at RG. He is the king here no doubt but everything goes his way too. Not this time, no hit weather to save him and that the price he payed for letting his ranking slip and doing nothing for past year :)
