Stan failed better than ever before...

Beautiful, simply beautiful.

I am so happy for you Wawaaa

I was asleep and did not know what I was dreaming and kicked the wall so hard with my right leg ONLY to wake up at your championship point. I will never forget this!

Your championship point and my right leg must be connected!

Bull sh*t... all I can say.

He deserved it based on his play today, but I can't feel happy that a guy who plays like such crap most of the year won. Unless he was playing Nadal like at the AO.
What do the previous tournaments of the year matter, it's all about getting through the 7 bo5 matches to win a GS.

Congrats to Stan he was amazing

Novak lost when he couldn't convert a bp when he had Wawa down 0-40.

Gutted that Novak still doesn't have the RG title in his cabinet...but congrats to Stan the Man and all his decent fans. He was simply the better player today and he deserves it. He is a truly deserving champ. :)

Honestly stunned. Djokovic is no all-time great. He won't be mentioned in 15 years.
World number one with 8 grand slam titles in one of the best eras of all time? Of course he will, they'll have to read his name on the trophies.

Dimitrov on the other hand as things stand....

And that's all the time I'm going to waste on you.

Just can;t believe it !!!

Totally unbelievable !!!
Why, it was so obivious that Stan was playing better clay court tennis from the point he took out Federer. If you watch that match,, you would have seen how he was hitting the ball and he was playing better tennis than Novak,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Clearly............ that is why I am so Great at analyzing

Alas, poor Novak, he is becoming RG's Roddick.

Dang Stang, who would have thunk two years ago! Ginormous game.

Climactic final, I approve.

Stan was unbelievable. I don't think anyone could have lived with him. Novak will reflect that he could have tried to be a little more positive though. Mentally he looked a little flat, possibly because he wanted it too much.

Congrats to Stan on a great match. He looked in control from the start of the 2nd set on.

Was a pretty tough ask for Novak to have to go through Rafa in the QF, win a 5 setter vs Murray over 2 days, and then come back on short rest to beat Stan as well. Would have liked to have seen how Novak would have done on full rest.

One can only hope this will quiet the federer fanboy nonsense of this era actually rivaling 06 in weakness. Especially when Nole had to navigate a draw with 18 slam wins between them in this FO and Fed had to beat one with 1 slam win (won after he played him) in the year he managed to win his.

If Nole had to lose Nishi or Stan is who I would have liked to see hold the trophy so I'm glad its still one of my favs holding the title at the end of the day.

A genuinely great end to the match. A blistering backhand winner, followed by the correct celebration of walking immediately to the net to acknowledge your opponent (rather than insulting them by lying on your back caterwauling) and genuinely gracious congratulations from Djokovic who dealt with must be a very tough loss manfully.

well , sad for djokovic that he hasn't won RG ..he's too good not to win one , but this was not to be his year ...

well, tbh, he deserves atleast one RG and 2 USOs, but maybe a wimbledon and AO lesser based on his general capabilities ...but sometimes things work out differently .........

It's hard for Nole to have too much regret here because Stan was truly Stanimal today.

Djokovic is still the best player in the world and should win multiple Majors this season!

Gutted for Novak.

So proud of Stan. He deserved to win today. Novak knew the match was gone when he broke the racket to lose set 2.

Tennis is the winner at the end of the day.

Hope Novak gets the FO before he hangs up.

He has won so much that his fans need to be proud.

This isn't like Thomas Johansson winning - Stan was very good at the start of the year, then had a bad spell with game/personal troubles. He started to regain his form in Rome and senselessly played another tournament in Geneva. But I can hardly criticize his clay season scheduling when this is the end result.

Happy for Stan. Novak almost brokeback.....had he got the 4th. It would have been interesting if Stan level would have kept up or not.

Totally. And a great match with two players playing really well too.

Actually, Wawrinka has been playing this way for the entire tournament. He didn't do anything different. He straighted Federer and took out an on-fire Tsonga.

Djokovic honestly just hadn't faced an aggressive player at all in this tournament. He had no preparation. Going through Nadal 0.5 and Murray is horrible preparation for facing an in-form Wawrinka.

He would have been better prepared if he had played Federer or Tsonga before Wawrinka.

Congrats to Stan. What an effort!

Djokovic should have closed murray much faster. Plus, his BP conversion had been really poor for a player, especially a returner, of his caliber.

The best rivalry of the last few years wasn't actually Djokovic-Federer.

No Calender Year Grand Slam then.. but Novak Djokovic should be proud, he is the best player in the world and he will come again.

Ah..... the smell of idiots being made idiots today.

Can't believe someone said Wawrinka has the worst serve in the top 10. I nearly died laughing. Djokovic the best returner in the world only managed to break him a handful of times today on clay, a surface that is suppose to negate the serve.
