Really well played by Cilic.

Jo has more power but Marin's gameplan is well thought out and precisely executed.

Can't believe this CIlic will be in the semis. Djokovic will walk him in the park on friday. A Tsonga-DJokovic match would have been much more interesting.

Cilic looks the more comfortable out there, and seems to have a good grip here.

I was very complimentary of Tsonga early on in this match but ever since his first handful of service games his level has dropped. It'll be interesting to see him battle in this set.

Cilic wasn't really going for his shots early and was lucky to not get down. Now he is hitting the ball like he can, and Tsonga is still playing aggressively but making more errors than he was at the start.

Jo looked the better and more confident player right up till the point where he was broken. After that the roles have reversed.

I don't believe that. Cilic deserves the respect as a defending champion. He won't lay down against djokovic if both advance.

Cilic can give Djokovic a good match at any moment but I don't think he can ever win. He might even take him to 5 like Wimbledon last year but is like 100% to lose. Tsonga atleast has a 8% shot maybe to pull the upset. That is why many are probably rooting for him.

I recall Cilic led Djokovic 2 sets to 1 at Wimbledon last year.
I love Cilic's down-the-line shots, the most entertaining outside of Rafa.

How incredible would it be if Cilic defended his title? Obviously as a Djokovic fan I'd be gutted if he didn't win but at least it would put an end to all the "fluke" talk, plus Marin seems like a genuinely nice guy so he'd definitely deserve it, especially after struggling so much with injuries since winning it last year.

Like Gilbert said he could become the next Rafter, winning his only 2 career slams at the U.S Open back to back.

Tremendous level by Cilic just kept heaping the pressure on Tsonga, who buckled in the end... finally that is.

Tsonga is effectively being neutralized by Cilic. I'm sort of surprised. I figured it would be the other way around and Tsonga would be a handful for Cilic but the Croatian is just too good.
