Dude its annoying!! She is a great champion who doesn't need that crap
I know. We all do. And we all probably agree with you. I know I do. But what are you going to do? She's very immature and lacks composure. Everyone knows this. But she and her opponent and producing sublime tennis. Can't we just enjoy that?

Selective editing doesn't change the fact you quoted my post about Gasparyan's serve when you said

even though it was my only post on the subject.

As for
you should have noticed I'm complaining specifically about Chris Evert's commentary.

Again, maybe you should post less and work on your reading comprehension.

Okay. I apologise. It just seemed to me like you were ragging on the WTA. I was wrong.

I didn't edit anything, however. But, let's draw a line under this and move on.

I'm enjoying watching Mattek-Sands utilizing her doubles skills, and SVing out there. Easy win for her - nice to see.

Jo Konta on centre against Maria Shreikapova next.
Could be interesting as MS has been I'll a bit, away from the game etc...
Konta played well at Eastbourne too.
Lets see

Serena working herself through that 1st match, but she seems determined so far.

Good to see Vika move through without any noticeable problems.

Ali Riske has been playing good ball. Not surprised she's up on Lucie. Question will be can she close it out. Like both players so can't root for either. But enjoying the match.

Wow, especially Brengle looked horrendous in the 2 games I watched...for omebody in the top-40 of the WTA that was embarrassing. Venus looked great but I find it hard to judge her level based on this match.

Let's not be dramatic here. Just because we see a couple double bagels every now and then it doesn't mean there's no depth in the women's game. Lol, it happens.

My point is that commentators who praise a supposedly incredible amount of depth (just because they're watching Serena Williams "struggle" with a lower ranked player in the first round) are just as clueless as fans who say there's no depth at all in the women's game. It's somewhere in the middle, it's neither amazingly good nor exceptionally bad.

Frankly, I am still amazed sometimes by the sheer nonsense some of the commentators say. It's often like they don't follow the sport and are asked to commentate a match with no prior knowledge about the players or the sport...

At least some of them know when to shut up. Unlike e.g. Chris Evert who apparently thinks she needs to constantly talk.

Brengle is just bad on grass. And this is her 8th loss in a row apparently She's in a bit of a slump.

I took an hour nap to get up and watch Venus that turned into a 3hr nap and me waking up to see the Queen made it to R2 6-0, 6-0 with 29 winners and no sweat :)

I agree she appeared to be on her game, but this is just the 1st match, and she's yet to face a true challenge.
Venus is the only women's player that I can honestly say makes her opponent irrelevant, when on top of her game on grass. The synergy between her feel for the grass game and her athleticism is awe-inspiring.

Well put. To this day, when Venus has the ENERGY to play like this on grass, she's the black mamba.

Dude its over the top. She does it constantly
Dude serena could win 6-0 6-0 and not do any sort of celebration/show any emotion and be silent throughout the whole match and walk off silently emotionless and people will still complain about her "behaviour". You know people have generally never played competitive sports when they keep complaining about how certain players fire themselves up.
People are just salty that she is still winning.
All i can say is relax. It will be all over soon.
