Watson and Garcia are doing their best impression of the chuckle brothers right now. 3rd set, was 5-5 with no breaks. Watson broke, Garcia broke straight back and not Watson broke again. Aparently neither of them wants to win xD "To me, To you, To me, To you"

Where is Bouchard's game? She hardly strings points together, and once again, Duan has set points on Genie--well, she just won the 1st set..not yet!

It seems Bouchard and Halep are in tune. Last year they were both going far in Slams (even meeting each other), this year they're struggling at the same time (meeting in despair).

Cannot believe Genie is losing yet again

Did you think the recent run-two and eleven, was it?-was just a minor bad patch? Duan was so rooted to the ground I thought birds were going to perch on her, but Ms. Thang just ain't that good. I forgot to observe the handshake, gotta rewind, lol.

She may end 2015 out of the top 100, what is wrong with her? Everything seemed so peachy for her until her destruction by Petra.

What kind of off-court stuff has she been dealing with? Judging by her results it must be pretty bad!
Good question. We probably know about all the endorsements and so on. That's what I meant, but honestly who knows? Her heart is not in tennis, and once she starts losing early, she started to lose a lot. I feel that losing to Kvitova the it happened hurt her, which is crazy given the fact that 12 month have passed.

I think its far beyond that loss in last year's final; she seems to have rested on all which brought her to that point, and--as it the course for most breakthrough players--many simply get used to / figure out your game. The very reason the troubled player needs to grow beyond the baby steps....learn to turn every player's advantage into a disadvantage. Instead, she's just doing it her same old way, and here we are. Finalist to 1st rd exit.

Well I just hope whatever it is that she gets her act together quickly. Sad to see someone so young and talented wasting all her potential.

So... Bouchard and Halep played against each other in the semifinals here last year, and now they're both out in the 1st round within an hour of each other. Crazy.

Probably not the best question to ask, D2011, as most people here just like to talk right out of their ass and actually have no ****ing clue what's really going on with her, other than the few minor incidents we've witnessed.

Big hugs going out to you and Genie DTL - I hope she recaptures her best form very soon. :)

OK, can someone please explain to me what the hell has happened to Bouchard!!!

Word of lack of work ethic (rumoured as to why her last coach left her). Too much focus on off the court stuff. I think she's still mentally crushed from the beat down Kvitova gave her in the final last year.

The serve is broken too (lots of DFs). An UF error machine right now.

It's sad to watch. I honestly thought she was on the cusp of winning a GS. Those thoughts seem silly now. How about at least making another deep run in a major.

It is definitely sad.
What bothers me about players like Halep and Bouchard -or actually their coaching staff- is that they do not seem capable of changing their gameplan and adapting to circumstances and opponents. This by the way is true for many WTA players: it's all about crushing the ball from the baseline. Switching it up with topspin, dropshots, coming into the net, going for short sharp angles, nope barely happening. Even Sharapova has zero adaptation, but she happens to be so supremely talented at her game with great mental strength that it almost alway works for her.

Players like Bouchard and to a lesser extent Halep could IMO have a much easier time if they work on variety. FOr Bouchard, she doesn't seem to possess even rally-neutralizing shots atm.

If you think that is all that is actually going on with Bouchard then I have a bridge to sell you.

And how the **** are you an expert on what's going on with her? THAT is my issue.

The only thing we have actually got to witness for sure is that her actual tennis game has completely evaporated and that she needs an attitude adjustment (handshake gate etc.). There is actually nothing there to prove that she's a spoiled brat who doesn't care about her tennis. There are just people who want to participate in the circle jerk of hate and the media who love to make mountains out of molehills and make up stories, the same media you people love to follow like sheep.

"We're closer to the end of the world now," said Bouchard during SW19 presser.

She also claimed a grade 2 ab tear which hindered her preparation. Also that she had no info about her opponent except before her match by her coach.

When asked if there should be changes to her team, Bouchard coyly responded, "Maybe I should."

I don't hate her at all. In fact if you check my past posts you will see I was defending her when others were critical as she was on her great run at the slams last year. I even stated I thought she would win a slam/slams because of her strong attitude.

I never said she doesn't care about tennis but you don't have to be a detective to figure out there is something going on with her behind the scenes. I was actually surprised today when I heard Cahill say publicly that her previous coach Saviano left Bouchard because of some work ethic issues. I did not realize that. I mean come on, she was making the SF of every slam under Saviano so obviously something major happened between them to cause a rift. All I am saying is that there is clearly more going on behind the scenes than we are aware. Nothing wrong with saying that.

It all started when she got her arse handed to her by Kvitova at Wimbledon last year. That shook up her confidence and obviously other things occurred as well to cause this downward spiral. It did not just appear out of thin air for no reason. Let's not be naïve and immature about it.

Yeah, I just realized for whatever reason I completely misinterpreted your post. Sorry. I should have stated myself that I know that's not all that's going on with her. I just meant that the abdominal tear is one of the immediate issues at the moment.

For the record, I completely agree that this goes back to her loss to Kvitova last year. She was left absolutely dumbfounded and a year later she still hasn't been able to get her head straight. I think that she does have a bit of an attitude but honestly it's not her biggest issue. People need to remember that we're talking about her tennis, not her personality.

So you do dislike her after all ccO?

I don't have anything against her but I have always said Halep vultured her way to the top when a void was created by Li Na retiring, Azarenka being injured, etc. I have never looked at the Halep game and said to myself, "boy she is something special and she will go on and win slams." I just don't see it and I have no idea what people are talking about who do see that. She has no answers not only for the bigger power players but for the better counter punchers too. What kind of sensation is that, lol.
