Have you guys been watching Madison Keys this tournament?? Holy hell she is belting the crap out of the ball and almost never missing. She is pretty much unplayable. This girl's game is really coming together, and it is amazing to watch. You just have to laugh at some of her shots--winners out of nowhere.

I hope you guys are also watching the dubs tonight. Hingis/Mirza are a great team. Shvedova/Medina are giving them a run for their money though!

Yep, she made short work of Lauren Davis. Lauren was having a good run but had no answer to the power and precision of Keys and was pushed back time and again.
Also had problems with Keys high kicking serve.

I think its cool how the women still play on green clay. They have a greater variety of surfaces than the men do. They play indoor clay in Germany and actually according to wiki still play a carpet tournament in Canada.

Somebody needs to send Madison Keys info on the forehand stretch shortening cycle. She may be limited in the future by her "WTA forehand". Hard to be great only hitting your FH 95 MPH.

Yeah, I want to like her but I need to see more than just power, power, power.

Well to Kerber's credit and good defence again, she took the first of three set points to take the match.

It's Kerber v Keys in the final!

Will Kerber's defensive skills be enough to unnerve Keys, getting her to go for too much? Or will Keys blast Kerber off the court?

Gonna be interesting to see...

Oh, I was just joking about the constant threads touting the modern forehand.

I think Keys has more shape to her FH than Sharapova.

Keys has the match on her racket every time she plays (except when she's against Serena).

Match against Kerber is up to Keys. Kerber has little say in the matter. Kerber can make her hit an extra shot but that's it.

I agree, Madison is someone you can watch play and clearly know she's going to be #1 if she can keep it up.

Kerber is the better player but has little to say in whether she wins the match or not...right.

That's basically how the match had played out. It's either an MK winner or UE.

It doesn't mean Kerber is worse. She just won't dictate points. And she hasn't.

Madison Keys sucking wind I could see her running out of gas. Kerber's only playing not to lose at this stage and making Keys go for it. Too bad, with the break and serving at 6-5 it looks like meaty, cheaty Kerber's going to win.

Thunderpins Kerber's the cheat who went sleezebag against Broomstick Hanchuova at the French last year when 'Butch' in the chair totally screwed Daniela.

What a great final! Down 4-1, I thought Kerber was a goner for sure. Madison has all the firepower, but Kerber is a defense MACHINE. Props to her for not giving up and for Madison playing another great tourney.

She will have to really sort out some issues. For one, her shot selection can be very poor and she gets too impatient. She also can have a problem with her movement and footwork which becomes sloppy. Her biggest problem right now is her mental fragility. She lets emotions overcome her and becomes quite mopey. Another problem is she seems to be injured a lot.

When I saw her play at the AO this year I thought to myself that she will probably become number one in the future but now I am not sure. She will have to work out all of those things I mentioned above to do it.

By calling three women in one post meaty, broomstick and butch, at least we know you don't have any class yourself either, eh? (and obviously no respect whatsoever for women in general)

Watched this today on catchup and it was well worth it.
No one voted Kerber in the poll I see:)

Windy conditions favoured Kerber. She is a ball back machine, and it works. Keys did pretty much as her coach asked but Kerber did not let her have all the court position and as said above Keys shot selection could be better - armchair pundits eh!
If you look at the Tennis Facebook page, you will see that she went surfing with some dudes to chill out after the win;)
