This tournament has a great "I DON'T CARE" vibe to it without Serena and Azarenka.

What has Azarenka done this year to justify her presence there? I highly doubt she'd win a match if she had indeed qualified.

Unfortunately I gave up on the match so not sure if Pennetta decided to turn GOAT or if Aga started choking. Knowing Aga, I believe the latter to be true but whoever was watching can enlighten me.

always bruising to watch Halep play Sharapova. Halep was playing great till 4 all and had Pova down 0-30 on her serve. Cahill came out to say how well Halep was doing on serve only for Halep to lose her serve and the set.

Last year I watched quite a bit of the wta finals and my favourite match of the entire year was Wozniacki v Sharapova. I still don't have a favourite match of this year.

That's pretty much it. A lot of these players in the top ten are pretenders unfortunately. It's pretty telling that Sharapova can be injured for half a year and come into this tournament and defeat Radwanska but particularly Halep who has been talked about as the next big thing for a long time. She's not the next big thing. She is what is left after Serena Williams and Sharapova. If Sharapova is playing her best, she's a level above Halep just as Serena is a level above Sharapova. When I look at the current top ten, the only bright spot I see is Muguruza.
