Well, hellz bellz. Thanks for catching that! I have been picking in a semi-conscious state as I'm falling asleep at night. I'm glad I have a chance still, but it's a predicament. Make sure I get my QF points or roll the dice for a chance at the whole enchilada?

Was torn between attempting to defend points from last year, trying for a win, and my distaste for SW.
That said, I still don't really understand how the ranking points work?

Do I lose the no1 ranking what ever the result?
Really not sure how this works. All I know is I've defended my points and will exceed them should Williams win - although I'm firmly in the Safarova corner. If she can only keep her nerve.......
 
If Serena wins then romeo in number 1 or if Safarova wins then it will be myself that's top..

That illness for Serena looked pretty bad.. :-) or was she acting up again ?!

How disappointing, especially given I cd actually win the tournament. Is it a different system to the ATP- prior to RG I got a shed load of points for the clay court tournaments where I was defending practically nothing. I did move up, but remained behind those who were defending a lot of points from last year but didn't do as well. I did look up the points system but was none the wiser.
On the plus side I think I only did well at Stamford post RG so I have a shot at getting back to no.1. Which keeps it interesting for me.
Good luck to yourself and Romeo. But I'm still rooting for Savarova!

Me & romeo are defending a lot less points from last years Roland Garros so we can increase our total easier in the 12 month rankings. The Race is only for points gained this year.

I think a win here for you keeps you in 2nd place in the rankings.

I completely understand The Race- I'd be uber dim not to.
And I get the defending less points and exceeding them. The rest is clear as mud but I appreciate this is the WTA system.
I suppose I'll be in a similar position at Wimbledon where I have few points to defend.
All of that said, I'd be more than happy to be last if Saffron gets the win!
