2016/17 Court Speeds (Cincinnati slower than Miami)

Not a fan of court pace moaning but here are some facts. Shanghai, Paris, London are from 2016. It was clear that Paris and London were sped up considerably from previous years. 2017 is Indian Wells onwards. What stands out is Miami now being Medium-Slow, although humidity probably meant we couldn't realise it was 'sped up'.

Now I know why there were so many slug fests in Cincy in 2014. LOOK AT THAT SPEED LMAO. Never understood why some people on this forum say it's the best prep for Federer. Canada plays more like the US, and gives him 2 weeks rest prior. Also, if you saw how Ramos and Nadal made yesterdays match look like a Thursday in Rome, you won't be surprised by the next graphic...

Real tears. Sand of the court gets worn down as the week goes on. Hence why it becomes slower.

But yeah, I ain't complaining, I really don't care if the ATP slows everything down to 20.2 or speeds it up to 45.6. It's just really fun seeing some of you argue about it. Use these factual facts as your arguments' basis. Looking forward to future altercations.

Well for whatever reason Federer has had unbelievable success at Cincy, more than in Canada or US

Is that just the court index or the whole thing (meaning balls and conditions as well)? Because it looks surprisingly slow to the eye, especially for previous years, I haven't watched that many matches this season. And I also thought Miami was slower than Indian Wells...

Suprised Madrid was the slowest masters on clay this year. Overall, I do enjoy the spread of the court pace this year/last year! Lots of medium-medium fast courts but still some slower courts to even out the tour.

My two wishes:
- speed up one hardcourt to the "fast" category
- change Madrid to blue clay and make it a medium-slow clay court

ITF website maybe? Not so sure, although Rod Laver Arena this year was 41.6, only Shanghai faster

Miami felt faster than usual but I've watched a couple of matches in Cincinnati and I don't think they slowed the courts down one bit.

CPI only looks at court and the friction of it. It leaves out weather, balls, altitude and bounce.
