As I said earlier vero, it's really a combination of factors such as at it being a semi rather than a final(so less pressure on Fed), Novak's 16 successive finals streak(Fed just LOVES ending them) and also Tomic's recent comments about how far Roger is from Novak right now. Tbh I'll be genuinely surprised if Nole somehow beats all those odds going against him.
Gurl, I normally love a flipflop but not in your case. :p
Oh God, here we go again. Not gonna lie, I'm nervous about this one and these are the chief reasons why:

• Novak has a chance to go ahead in the H2H again and we all know how Fed fights like a lion protecting its cub to prevent that from happening.
• Novak has a run of 16 consecutive finals and can equal Fed's amount should he win. We all know how Streakenderer likes to make an appearance and crash Nole's party.
• This is a semifinal so not as much pressure on Roger as there was the last couple of times they met in a major.
• Nadal's comments after the Doha final about never seeing such a high level of play will likely have stuck in Fed's craw. We all know deep down that he considers himself the best ever and we also saw what he did to Djokovic a week after Berdych said something similar after the Beijing final in 2014.
• The courts are playing slightly quicker this year which will benefit Fed's game more. Moreover, he's looked the better player of the two so far this tournament.

Now don't get me wrong, if you put a gun to my head and made me put my life savings on who I think will win, I'd have to slightly favour Novak but given the reasons I've outlined so concisely for y'all, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if Roger prevails in a tight 4 setter.

May the better player on the day prevail!

My point is I'm not extra kind to Fed fans just because I'm a Fed fan. Ya seen this place - it's a madhouse! But yes, usually fans of a certain player have an obvious bias toward their own fan base I agree. I'm just challenging the logic - sport for me.

5-3 Ferrer
Okay well that I completely understand and agree with

Again, Ferrer hits so few backhands down the line. It's odd. Yes, some, but not enough.

Lol, and then he hits a return down the line as I post that.

Great injection of pace from Ferrer forehand. Technically he has better forehand than Murray but less powerful and gets lesser penetration (which is usual for his frame). If he had huge 6'3" frame like like Murray, his forehand would have been much more destructive than Murray's one.

Ferrer takes second set TB. 1 set all. Well deserved. Hope he keeps fighting like this till the end. There is nothing so far suggest he can't win this match.

I would be if he weren't playing his toughest ever matchup. Federer's always been Novak's Achilles heel.

He's won in straight sets the last 2 times they've played at the Australian Open, not disrespecting Fed but Novak is a huge favorite on this court. It is true that Novak has had a few chances to take the lead in the H2H and has failed but he finally changed that against Nadal he can do it against Federer.

I really hope you're right mate cos if you're not, this place will be absolutely unbearable. :(

It will the Djokovic hate is spiraling out of control, as it has been for awhile now, but Federer hasn't won a best of 5 against Novak since Wimbledon 12 I think. While Federer has done very well at his age to stay competitive with Novak, especially in best of 3 format, I feel very good about tomorrows match. Of course it would be foolish to underestimate Federer but I still feel very good about tomorrow and the rest of the tournament.

People are looking way too hard into the Simon match, sure it was ugly but just look at Wimbledon last year against Anderson in the fourth round as well. He played horrible there and rebounded just fine:)
