2016 ATP Sudden Death League: Australian Open

That's cool - I went in 2012 and saw the Nadal/Berdych quarterfinal at night and the day before saw Ivanovic, Serena, and Murray on Laver. Since Murray and Serena won quickly we tried to go over to Hisense to see Nishikori/Tsonga but we couldn't find any tickets mid-session. We actually got our tickets to Nadal/Berdych the day before but the we bought the Laver Day session right after they went on sale. Very cool experience going to the Aussie Open I'm sure you'll love it.

I'm excited, but still have a ton of stuff to do to prepare for the trip and only like 2 days lol. I'm hoping I can play while I'm there too, that would be amazing. I'll be in Sydney from the 17th - 21st, and then Melbourne from the 21st - 25th, and finally ending in Perth until the 30th.

I'm hopeful that we'll get to see a top 5 player like Stan or Rafa on that Friday night too! Would be awesome to see someone like that play live. Although I have seen some cool players play at that Clay Court championship here in River Oaks, but not exactly the same feel as a Grand Slam.

We flew into Melbourne and spent 5 days, then went to Cairns (GB Reef) for 4 days, and finished in Sydney for 4 days - great trip. Looks like your doing it right because if you are going to spend that much time on an airplane you need to stay for as close to 2 weeks as possible.

Oh yeah most definitely, my Dad and I when we planned it were like if we're gonna spend 16+ hours on the plane, we better stay for the better part of a month, and the best time to go, during the Australian Summer too. I hate Winter.

Have fun, every tennis fan will thoroughly enjoy being at the Aussie Open. I personally loved watching the matches up close at the outside courts and watching the players practice.

I'm hoping I get a chance to see some awesome pros practice. I'd love to hop on a court and play too lol!

100% agree. I recommend that everyone goes. It is organised to perfection.

Is there rain going on today in Melbourne...a quick scan of the schedule link shows a few matches "to finish" instead of "in progress"???

There are some practice courts behind Hisense Areana which are numbered 24-28 which sometimes has top pros practicing there with less of a crowd. Got to watch Wawa practice with only a handful of people there, got a picture with him as well.

Probably because the bulk of the fans flock to the three main practice courts 16-18 which the big stars i.e. Djoko, Nadal, Masha, Fed, etc use.

Pack some of your own food as well, the food inside is pricey.

Good to know, thanks!

Rain is gone, back on court for all matches but it's nearly 6pm in Melbourne with many matches to play. Are there lights on all the outer courts or will play be suspended???

There are lights on the outer courts, i remember watching Simon v Cilic at 10+pm being resumed due to a rain delay.

In for Main Draw...I guess the prediction league isn't happening but if it does I can probably key in a lot of picks/results

Think that Harrison played way before your comment.

Yeah, the match started at 10:00 AM local time, the match was already over when you named him here for QD3
shoot! looks like I skipped one round, I thought I kept a tab on this, how about my BU pick Ito?
