2016 ATP Sudden Death League: French Open

Sf Djokovic.

Is a backup pick necessary at this point? When reading the rules it appears you CAN advance in the event of a walkover in the semis. Is that right?

No back-ups necessary.
And yes, I think so - though it's rather unlikely to happen at this stage of a tournament

Backup can be necessary even in the semis, for the case in which the player I pick gives a walkover before the match. It can be specially crucial if the pick is from the second semifinal.

Backup in the semifinal came into play a few years ago in Miami when both the semifinals were not played due to walkovers.

Oh well I am in a good position right now,as Murray needs one more set for the final.
It seems only 5 people dared to take the riskier pick(Murray).
How nice would it be for me to win RG at the same time with Novak.:D

Well, I'll die on Sunday because of a heart attack if the final is a very tight one.

Final: Murray

BU: Murray US Open 2012 and Wimbledon 2013

Back-to-back Slam Finals made
But once again, this is where it ends for me.
Final: NPA.

First time that there are so many guys in the final of a Slam? Of this happened before?

18 in the final, and 15 with a chance to win the title.

Definitely the most in the last couple of years. I'll have a look at the pre-2015 seasons and see if it's happened before. The maximum number of winners we can have is 10, which equals the number of guys who won the Australian Open this year (most ever I think).

Question for all SDL participants: due to a lengthened grass court season, what do we think about adding Stuttgart to the schedule? The tournament begins on Monday and features prominent names including Federer, Cilic, Thiem, Simon, Lopez, etc. Could be a good chance to collect a few quick points before Queen's/Halle and Wimbledon.
(Bearing in mind we did add Brisbane and Sydney to the tour earlier in the year)

Sure. Stuttgart is a great idea but the question is whether there's time to add it. Will play if you organize it.

Off topic...hope Thiem doesn't play. Gosh, that kid is overplaying.

Great - yeah there's time to add it, I'll set up the thread shortly.
And if Thiem plays Stuttgart he shouldn't play the following week - way too much tennis
